Could be an interesting diversion, but hardly a killer app. It'll only appeal to the casual market, really. Looks like things are only going to get worse for gamers who bought the Wii.

I wonder if other games will use it. I suppose it can tell if you're crouching and stuff.
Or games to come out specifically for it. Combining the balance board with the regular controls. Could be cool. -

Registered 9 years agoLooks good fun to me, have to see more modes, and wasnt paying too much attention as im working at the moment aswell.
Im sure on harder modes youll get a workout just as much as an aerobics class, assuming you dont do anything to cheat. -

Registered 9 years agoIf they anounced it along with other new "gamer" stuff / games eg. Wii HDD, Pilotwings, F-Zero, Animal Crossing, Music etc (stuff we havent seen before) it would have been a cool distraction.
As the "main course" of their conference though - that's the real problem here - not Wii Fit itself per se. -

They need to work this into a snowboarding game. I mean, you could still use nunchuck and Wiimote at the same time, I'm assuming.
Or in a lightgun game, being able to tell when you're crouched.

They did that on the xbox, a snowboard I mean, everyone complained that it made them look like a twat.
Obviously gamers have lost their inhibitions now and are happy to look like a pratt any time of the day.
Nah, this looks okay for a drunken evenings fun maybe, as a fitness tool, please, I'm not convinced. -
