    I think he burned out a month a go, he had been pretty hardcore in to EVE for ages, though.

    Saw him in the RPS Ventrilo with Fat Pigeon

    Yeah, I had a big break and went back and he was still there (a while ago) - some serious space hours put in.

    I still have a couple of GTCs to redeem, and a decent amount of ships and some ISK.

    Let me know if a few people get going and I may hop in during the bleak midwinter.

    Just caved in and re-subbed. God help me.

    No idea what to do with myself in the game after a 6 month break. Anyone else getting back into it?

    Very slowly, very on and off. But I'm trying to get back into it.

    Lollipops are planning to have a mini meet up this weekend to fly around and try to kill something before being exploded into tiny little bits.

    Seems to be cheaper space sims on the horizon in Star Citizen and Elite, probably best to wait for them instead of getting addicted again.

    Ok, could I get a little bit of noob advice?

    Started playing this in the week after reading lots of stuff about Dust and finding myself more interested in trying EVE...

    Anyway, I've done pretty much all of the 'tutorial' missions for the different careers but not I'm a little stuck as to what I need to do?

    Are there places I need to go to start big epic quests and so on?

    Edit: Also, what is the best starting ore to mine for money? And should I be refining the ore to make more money, or just selling the raw ore?

    If you haven't done so, you could try doing the Sisters of Eve Arc. That said, PvE in Eve is rather formulaic and boring IMO. But the arc is worth doing.

    You could also look into getting into a corp to see more of the game, e.g. Red vs. Blue, or Eve University. EG also has a corp, but I'm not sure what they're up to (or how newbie friendly they are).

    edit: Don't ever mine. It's skull-crushingly boring. Do something more productive with your time.

    a), avoid mining.
    b), look into the sister's epic arc, will keep you you going for a bit longer.
    c), join the eurogamer.net chat channel

    a nice mini profession is ninja salvaging, worth googling for information on... Assuming nothing in the game's been changed to make it harder.

    watching that battle vid on the front pageihas made me really tempted to resub, i really have no time to spare and to be honest i dont think i would even remember how to play, tempting though.

    Aye, exactly. I'm still running the poor old 'puter that struggled back in the first flush of Lollipops, and I've barely enough time to creep onto the internet at all at the moment, some days.

    Can't shake the juddering excitement of running from gankers in the Deimos, memories of The Day The Fuel Ran Out in the POS, chasing that stray battleship around the hole, and all that kind of stuff.

    One day... One day I shall return*!

    But the game is rather good, now.

    Loads of balancing work has been done, All T1 ships are now useful and have a role, PVP has never been more diverse. Maybe it's ECM still being in the game that's keeping me bitter.

    Feeling the twitch a bit to get back onto this but with Planetside 2 and no real time I just don't think I could. Would only end up getting into the mission running cycle again.
