    hi

been playing the game since August.. still utterly hooked :)

my corp (an empire-space carebear corp) has had war declared on it by some lazy-a*s pirates who've got nothing better to do but camp outside our station. Think they're no more than 5 BS strong.

We're planning a counter-attack and i wondered if any PvP anti-pirate players from this forum would be interested. Action is in Genesis region.

    Carebears are making a stand!

eve-mail 'machiavelli7' for the low down.

/waves to the poor EVE players

Took my account off of hold and (having lost the disk in my move) I'm downloading the client now.

Got to 25% last night before bombing out.

    Grr.

Incidently I'm still having to turn off bump-mapping a few sectors. I actually counted 121 items in the sector. Man was it busy.

    /tries to steal chimp's inter-domensional cosmic weed

The Curse Alliance (and therefore us) are war with m0o, Evolution and Celestial Apocalypse. And the Stain Alliance, as usual.

Much carnage and ultra-violence all around.

Ang lag. Lots of it. And then some.

www.zond3.net has had another update. You can now view the skill requirements necessary to fly each ship in the game, presented in a hierarchical tree structure similar to that in-game. As well as that, you can also compare the specs of all the combat drones.

I'd forgotten all about Errol to be honest. There are bigger fish to fry in the game at the moment, so chasing after tadpoles isnt worth the effort.

what has happened to all the old timers like JC, Mingster, Lou Subia etc.? Have most people left the game?

I'm really glad to see it looking successful; I haven't played a PC game properly since I cancelled my account!

All gone. Lou left the game in December (but I recall him saying he's still paying his sub), JC and Mingster in January. sheepfish and chimp-hustler are gone as well too.

Some of them did PROMISE to come back some day, but we'll see.

otto, I did go looking for Errol a couple of times (as two different characters too), once he warped away as soon as I saw him, the other time he never undocked from the station. And I'm not good at waiting.

But I'll get him if I get the chance... for old times sake:-D

He did boast he was coming over to fight CA in one of the "m0o vs. CA" threads...

    James Caldari lives.

Glad to see that the old boys are still fighting the good fight. I think the best way to get Errol would be to paraphrase various 'Carry On' film lines, until he gets so aroused by the innuendo that he drops his guard. At that point, you can give him the utter probing that he deserves. Arseteroids!!

Also, I've been told that I'm David Brent (the way I act, I don't look like him). Anyway, here's an 'off the cuff' joke I made in the office today...

Me: "Angela, where's Joy today? Is she in?"
Angela: "No, she's gone to brussels."
Me: "Has she put 'Sprout of the office' on her phone?"

    Badda-doom!

My wits so sharp, it makes me bleed internally.

/realises he may actually be a bit like David Brent.

    oh.

Anyway, remember to say something like "Oo Matron..." when you see Errol.

This is James Cadlari, last surviving member of the CEO clan of INCOM...signing off.

Cripes! Good to see youre still about JC. Any chance of you actually logging back into the game?

    /plug mode on

Ship Comparison Tools has had another update. Scrrenshots are available for about 30 of the ships in the game, with the number increasing by the day. These screenies are viewable in a rather sexy looking cross-fading slideshow type dhtml popup layer that dosent get nerfed by anti-popup software. Netscape users get the slideshow too but without the cross-fade effect.

    /off

Just trying to get back into things again, it's been a while since I've been in EVE. I forgot just how nice the interface is, something X2 could do with learning. ;-)

I had to get out of the old Incom system (Reb) as it was too hot me.

So, I've gone back to a 1.0 rated system, so I can mine in peace and get the skills a bit higher before I take on the .4 risks.

/sets a 9hr skill training, limps to bed.

I must admit I have cancelled my account in the meantime. And I never said properly goodbye. :-(

I would love to play it, but I just don't have the time.

10.000 people though? Jesus! Was it a planned event to get as many people to log on as possible? Or is it always that busy now? Even if the former, it's an achievement, the last event of that kind I took part in failed miserably. :-)

Great to see that EVE is doing so well, if there's one game that deserves it, it's EVE.

Are you in a corp, Nem? or minding your own business?

    I miss you, Incom.

    /sniff

Sad news indeed, Lou. You'll be missed out there in the dark reaches of space. Incom is all but dead, the last two remaining ex-incom members I know of are Jazz Bo and myself. I think Errol/Nich still plays but nobody gives a toss about him.

The main reason the number of simultaneous players has risen so dramatically is down to the influx of Earth and Beyond players who are looking for a replacement mmorpg space sim. Just looking at the sheer number of pilots going about their business in the n00b systems is just awesome.
