Don't pay them anything!!!! Even if they had gotten cleaners, I wouldn't give them a dime. Tell them to contact your lawyer.

Tell them to fuck off. Literally. Those two words in that order "Fuck" and "off". They deserve nothing less.

P.S. My wife works in this area of the law, she says you're well within your rights to refuse and there's jack shit they can do about it.

I really think "but don't be a cunt about it" should be added onto every agreement like this.

I.e in this case "You're entitled to have your house cleaned but don't be a cunt about it".

Presumably EG didn't want to be seen giving chavs advice on how to reset the laptops they stole out of the back of an unlocked Saxo.

Stupid jackoffs showing up unannounced and ringing my doorbell, scaring the crap out of the wife and I, putting the dog in a tizzy. In this day - I'm not answering for strangers!! 99 out of 100 times it's some idiot trying to become my new landscaper or something. I think it's shady!

Am I alone in not answering random doorbell rings?

Nope pretty sensible really. If they really want to hold of you - postman, council, neighbour - they'll drop a note or whatever.

We had a thread on this a while back and the general consensus was that people like you are a bit broken.

    Developments & Conclusion

So. there was an email from the real estate agent in my inbox this morning as I came into the office.
It said that they had paid for the cleaning. Or rather they had reimbursed the mad lady for a cleaning bill that never existed.

The fact that this farçe has come to an end brings me little joy as the bitch got her money.

But I get a small amount of joy from the fact that the real estate agent had to do what they loathe the most lose money. I really hope the amount will be deducted from her bonus this christmas so that she might learn a valuable lesson of not bending over as soon as some nutcase starts raving.

    Oh well.

You can't win them all but at least I didn't have to spend any of my money on that sorry excuse of a person.

I'd also like to add my support to the "Don't be a cunt about it" idea.

I have been involved in three real estate deals over the last 6 months and 3 before that and never have I encountered such malice. I can only hope that this bitterness doesn't spill over to her daughter and then continue to spread from there.

"Don't be a cunt about it"

Not bad for a motto. Might need a non-sweary synonym but those are good words to live by.

And as a bittersweet aside. A pudding if you'd like:

Once the bidding had subsided and this witch bitch of a creature had won she said "We would like to see the apartment one more time"I asked the broker if she could contact the second bidder and ask her if she wanted the place without the hassle. The broker strongly advised me not to since this "might make her suspicious"

How I wish I had stood my ground and said "It's not about that, it's about the fact that we don't wan't the hassle."

    Lessons learned.

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

I'd never experienced this before until last year - was too polite to tell the guy to fuck off and ended up being shown about 20 random pictures.

Made the mistake of saying one of them was nice, and the guy was desperately trying to get me to buy it even though I kept telling him I was getting married and didn't have a spare penny to my name. He got really pushy too.

He left without a sale though, so both our time was wasted. Fucker.

@Tonka Shame that fucking idiot woman got some form of 'compensation' over it. But at least you didn't have to cough up.

It is a joke though, and because she did get some money back she's under no obligation to try and change her ways, so she'll likely remain a cunt and put others through something similar in the future.

That thought really bothers me for some reason...

I feel the same. I can't believe the broker caved. Can't see what's in it for them. It's not like I'd ever recommend them to anyone and I doubt that winging piece of bitter tart that got the money will.

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

To be fair I always get a sense of dread when the doorbell unexpectedly rings because I know it will likely be some god-botherers or charity scroungers, and telling someone to fuck off is never pleasant.

Who am I kidding? It feels great to tell them that!

I'll never get my Orc looking the same again.
