Okay! I'm really bored and want to boot up my old Snes...

...Emulator and start a new game. Last thing I completed on the Snes was Earthbound(anything like that would be awesome, but in English preferably ;)), but nothing's really struck me since that. Done the whole SoM thing too, that stuff's pretty cool so along those lines too :)

First person to post a great Snes RPG that I end up playing wins something really cool.

Bahamut Lagoon? It's a tactics RPG but very solid at that. I'd also look at the Front Missions, and there's the unique Front Mission gaiden "Gun Hazard" which I heartily recommend.

Live a Live was pretty funky and good too, imo.

    On a scale of 1 - 10 I'd say it's well cool.

Shining Force looks interesting... Showing a bit too much skin for my liking though ;) And it's not for the Snes, but thanks anyway :p

Anyone got anything before I get borederer and wander upon other activities?

Edit: Oooh, cheers Mr. Harvest, I'll check them out now :)

Wonder Project J. Squaresoft "RPG" for the Super Famicom, never made it out of Japan. I'm sure there must be an english patch for it somewhere.

EDIT: Looking it up online has reminded me how beautiful SNES games could sometimes be. Ah, those were the days.

If you're going to get Live-a-Live, you might want to wait a bit - there's a new version of the translation coming out soon, with a completely revised script, few bug fixes and the crap font replaced with nine different not-crap fonts.

edit: site here - Aeon Genesis

also in the process of being translated is Rejoice, which looks like it might be absolutely brilliant.

first pick would be Chrono Trigger - the best thing that Square's ever produced (with the possible exception of Einhander).

If you're more interested in obscure classics, then it might be worth waiting for a translation patch for Lady Stalker - if it's half as good as Landstalker then you'll be in for a treat.
Not so much an RPG as a graphic adventure, but Famicom Detective Club II has a translation patch available and was pretty entertaining for the couple of hours it lasted.

There's actually a game called Lady Stalker? Can't wait for the Daily Mail to get wind of that (the content might be perfectly innocent, they don't usually care).

imagine my disappointment when I discovered that the game didn't involve hiding in some bushes outside Kate Beckinsale's house with a telephoto lense and an erection :~(
