Is there no treatment? Sorry to hear about that, sounds like a rubbish situation.

Beards keep you young, healthy and handsome, allegedly.

Do you think there will ever come a time when this beard fad will die, the beards will dissapear and people will be left with photos that make them cringe.

A guy came into the pub last night with a full on ginger growth and a styled moustache.

He looked like an utter plum and drank ale. Proper hipster stereotype.

    Its just wrong

@Madder-Max hope so. Hipsters look like utter tools. Beard, silly moustache, partially shaved heads, turn ups, mismatched clothes... they make the 70s look stylish.

I know it's cruel and overly judgemental, they could be absolutely wonderful people, but as soon as I see someone with a greasy waxed up fancy mustache I can't help but think "You cuuunt".
Although to be fair, the one guy whose reputation I am actually aware of, that does have a minging mustache, is supposedly a right twat.

Chavs/gym bros with beards are worse than hipsters. Especially when paired with one size too small jack & jones clothing and that man bun that that ufc guy had that every gym bro loves at the moment.

I hate guys with beards but it's mainly through envy. I'm in my 30's now and it just looks like i've cut some hair off my arse and pritt sticked them to my face when i try and grow one.

I've had one one and off for 10 years. Occassionally I'll shave it off and start over. Went to Hungary for a year and a half when very few people in Belfast had one, came back and ever fucker had one.

What irritates me is people assune I'm some hipster as I keep it realitively short (still full and bushy but not super long and dwarfy).

Unfortunately I couldn't shave it even if I wanted to as the reason I grew it is because my face just rips when I shave, regardless of razor, foam etc so it was easier to leave it be. Even the doctor suggested it.

So mine isn't for hipster reasons, it's medically prescribed haha.

My stubble is certainly patchy but just about passable, my chin whiskers are feckin white now!
No chance of a big heavy beard though, just not happening. Even though my dad is a hairy bastard, well bald on top now, I'm not at least, but he is 66.

A lot of my nephews (early to mid 20's) are rocking the beard/quiff look, looks terrible for the most part, one having a huge ginger monster, he is actually very blond.

Breaking news one of the younger nephews has a wedge, so maybe he knows something we don't.

I have several "cows licks" so all short for me :(

This "fashion/look" does seem to be going on forever, I agree.

I have, what I feel, is an irrational hatred of hipster beards. I feel like asking one such person "so when did you grow your beard?" "oh six months ago?...wanker". It's irrational I know and my g/f thinks I'm odd.

@MrWonderstuff it's not irrational at all. There's at least two of us who think that.

I do currently have a beard, no stupid styled moustache or hair though.

I have a beard and a buzzcut, I'm currently looking somewhat like Oscar Isaac in Ex Machina :)

I think it's nice that so many young males are taking an active interest in living history by trying to look like Edwardian cricketers.

I don't get the hate, TBH. I think beards make people look friendlier and more sophisticated. Some people look like twats in them, sure, but that can't be helped.

As for the term "hipster", it lost all meaning back in 2010. Everyone is a hipster now, especially those who aren't.

Also, shaving sucks. I trim my facepubes down to stubble once a week and even that is a pain in the arse. I long for the day when facial hair is normalised. It's not necessarily a fashion statement, it's stuff that grows from your face.

I find it heart-warmingly anachronistic to see 20-somethings with fastidiously waxed moustaches. I don't think it's inherently obnoxious or narcissistic.

It ain't just the beard, it's the whole ensemble.

    Cunts.

I've actually no real problem with hipsters. Is just another popular subculture. Sure, I think they look ridiculous but it's no worse than any other clique. I used to wear baggy jeans and wallet chains, which were just as ludicrous as anything hipsters wear.

I'm sure they will look back in 20 odd years and grimace at old pictures, but that pretty much happens to everybody, unless you were incredibly boring.

Besides which at least the prevalence of hipsters has made it easier to find decent ale.

On the topic beards themselves, I'd grow one but I can't, it just looks patchy and shit. Doesn't stop me trying if I'm working from home as nobody will see me, though.
