    I'll fire another out here:

Likely ITV, summer holiday mornings during the 80's. Young lassie with a small dog getting up to high jinx against a gaggle of mini-black-Darth Vaders, ruled by an incompetent, camp mini-white-Darth Vader, who all had flip heads and lazer guns for necks. Star Wars ripoffs continued with tri-winged shuttles the lass was always "borrowing".

    It's annoyed me for years......
I don't think its any of these, but its worth linking.

Ooops. Should've said it was a cartoon, possibly French dubbed into English. Might have a link to Dogtanian - same creator/distributor ? Seem to remember something connecting them, but I might be way out.

@EMarkM That was the Enchanted Castle, by E Nesbit. The artificial people you remember were the Ugly-Wuglies. They must have scared the life out of me as a kid as I can still remember them today.

IMDB says that it was broadcast on BBC1 in 1979.

In case folk think I'm mental.

I'm off to weep quietly in a corner, weep with joy at a decade-plus mystery being solved.

@onestepfromlost I can only vaguely remember.

I think one was this girl (parkour jacket) in an east end tower block of flats (think the video for Pink Floyd's the wall), with a mum who had issue. There was a set of about 6, the idea being you discussed them in class about how to improve their lives.

It's such a tough one. I saw it once!

    Through the Dragon's Eye?

That's usually the correct answer to ALL questions - ever.

I don't know how you did it, but you did it!

Now all you need to do is identify that damned toy I mentioned weeks ago in another one of these "What Was This...?" threads!

Thank you. More than I can say :)

Edit: I would have been eight at the time, and those flippin' ugly jobbies were terrifying!

Nothing yet, but found this which is brilliant.

May be worth looking at the episode list for Scene, they were dramas for class discussion.

    @RobTheBuilder

Was it a series in its own right, or could it have been a sub-set of another series like Sense or Stop-Look-Listen etc.

@X201 it appeared to be its own series. It was a tape with only that show on it, and it had its own theme music.

    Anyone know this one?

A spaceship, shaped like a classic wooden boat. That's all I know.

    It's not, it's parka.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Here's one that's bothered me for years. In the eighties, I saw a film on TV but all I remember is a scene in a school hall where all the kids turn around, slowly back the teacher (I think), in to the corner and then attack him, I remember it being quite violent.
It was on late at night and I shouldn't have been watching so it definitely wasn't a kids film.

    Not a lot to go on I know . . .

@HitchHiker That's a bit like a scene from James Herbert's "The Fog". The book, though, not a film that I know of.

This is a long-shot, as not much info.

My bro is trying to work out what kid's programme this comes from:

(music) Da dada daaa. Da dada daaa. (spoken)"What did he say?"

Driving us mental. I vaguely remember it, so it could be late 70s or early 80s (I was born in 75).

He seems to think it is animated rather than live-action.

Hoping one of you old bastards will be able to help.
