Little plug for my mate's band Three Kings High, who will incidentally be supporting Pharcyde at the Bristol show if you're around those parts.

They've just been signed and have got a really nice things going - kind of live funk band hip hop fusion thing. Quite cool.

    Nice one, thanks :)

Just listening to Smif n Wessun's "Da Shinin'" album (1995). Forgotten how good it was. Kinda ignorant gangsta rap but what with me being so fucking ghetto and shit, it's working for me

Awesome album. Sound bwoy is a real guilty pleasure. So very offensive, but just such a good tune.

Skip the DJ chatting bits, 4 great performances in a row,,
KEXP Radio is a brilliant channel to subscribe to on YouTube.

They have loads of great performances in full and not just from Hip Hop bands.

    The Coup

    Doomtree

    Brother Ali

    Shabazz Palaces

    OCnotes

That beat is excellent. The Stik Figa version is slightly... heavier? But Jaysaun's voice is just gravel. Reminds me of Tone Loc a little bit

I'm absolutely loving all the full albums posted on youtube. today's one has been OC - Jewels, a 1997 piece of excellence. Such a great, underrated MC.

Didn't rate his album last year to be fair. Though many did.

Loved all the DITC guys back then though.

New Reef The Lost Cause is an album of rap versions of classic rock tracks.

Sounds awful right? It somehow isn't.

What is up with eminems flow? In recovery it was often terrible and on 50 cents new single it is god awful again. Even worse than 50 cent!! :/

I have finally managed to find an mp3 of side B of Electro 13 from the following website:

    http://www.hashmoder.com/category/music/rap-roots/streetsounds-electro/

I have had the album on tape since about 1987 when I bought from a market while on holiday and is probably my favourite 80's hip-hop album after It Takes A Nation of Millions ...

Anyway the the site hosts Electro 9 - 15 to stream or download. Electro 9 was the first hip-hop album I heard/had and I think that got me into hip-hop to the exclusion to most other music.

One of the best rap tracks you'll ever hear. Wu at their finest and RZA's genius on the beat.

So you know what to expect, I think they are in some way linked to Joey Bada$$.

While I'm here this is pretty good too:

Live band mixing Jazz, Rap & Soul to pretty chaotic effect.

Don't you just love it when you find a classic album that has been out for ages but you never bothered with it until today...

    Common - resurrection.
