Does that mean he has some new music coming out?

    Bloody hope so.

Yeah I saw him in Bristol years ago. It's not 'till April so hadn't quite thought ahead that far yet. Could be up for it!

Just walking round the lounge walking my boy and put on fishscale for first time in year or so. Oh. My. God. Classic.

What a lovely cd mix, ghostface, Madonna, clipse, classical music, NAS etc :)

I need a couple of mixtape download links please.
Is this a general request for links?

    You'll love this:
    P. Blackk - Contemporary Nostalgia
    http://pblackk.bandcamp.com/album/contemporary-nostalgia

    This is really good:
    Wrecking Crew Presents Wu-Tang Pulp
    http://wreckingcrew.bandcamp.com/album/wrecking-crew-presents-wu-tang-pulp

This is a bit different but I love it:
Lushlife - No More Golden Days
    http://lushlifemedia.bandcamp.com/album/no-more-golden-days
Enjoyed all of these, thanks. The J Rawls production on the P Blackk album is (predictably) excellent. The Lushlife one, agree it's different and not something I'd usually gravitate to but I like it. The Wu Pulp one is a bit of a throwback, which is a good thing :)

I only listened to number 6 so far but the track selection is excellent. I don't know who it's by but the track that starts at 31:30 is absolutely fucking hilarious

Whoa rap really dropping off in America behind dance music. NAS life is good is nominated for Grammy, got loads of album of the year awards but has sold 350,000 as of end of November. If same album released five years ago it would be 1.5 million by now.

Yeah it's 2 of them. MC (Zumbi) and a producer (AmpLive).

Their previous album The Take Over is their best IMO.

He's great but he puts out so much material there's no quality control.

I don't think he's ever said no to a request to appear on another artists song.

The official video for that tune is great:

Task Force have released a couple of albums made up of stuff they didn't use for the Music from the Corner albums. Usually this stuff is dross, but I got the first one and it's surprisingly good, better perhaps than most of the MFTC stuff. Well worth a fiver. Haven't listened to the second one yet.

What is it with rappers that make up silly little names for themselves to make them sound cool. It's quite laughable.

The Pharcyde? No idea I'm afraid. I'm going to the Jazz Cafe show, really looking forward to it

Little plug for my mate's band Three Kings High, who will incidentally be supporting Pharcyde at the Bristol show if you're around those parts.

They've just been signed and have got a really nice things going - kind of live funk band hip hop fusion thing. Quite cool.

    Nice one, thanks :)

Just listening to Smif n Wessun's "Da Shinin'" album (1995). Forgotten how good it was. Kinda ignorant gangsta rap but what with me being so fucking ghetto and shit, it's working for me
  • Deleted user 23 January 2013 20:07:22
Awesome album. Sound bwoy is a real guilty pleasure. So very offensive, but just such a good tune.

KEXP Radio is a brilliant channel to subscribe to on YouTube.

They have loads of great performances in full and not just from Hip Hop bands.

    The Coup

    Doomtree

    Brother Ali

    Shabazz Palaces

    OCnotes
