    3) Red Sauce (not tomato sauce)
    4) No sauce in a bacon roll. Just loadsa real butter.

I believe chop sauce is a brown sauce or brown sauce variant.

Actually, for fish can I just say Bouillabaisse? I know it's not a sauce but it is by far one of the best fish dishes I've ever had.

The maw in law puts it in everything. I am sure she only does it to piss me off so I can't eat anything.

worcestershire sauce is great..not all of it's variants are veggie, but it adds a lot to a veggie spaghettie bolognese or chilli.

Soy sauce is also lovely. i love rice noodles with soy sauce..

Has anyone also heard of Stubbs bbq sauce/marinade? it's lovely, but i can't seem to find it anywhere anymore? :(

Aaaah. Worcester Sauce. The land of my birth.

    /salutes

i find if I'm cooking something, and it tastes like there's something missing, that something is invariably a bit of the old Lea & Perrins

It's good stuff but I think only Lea and Perrins doesn't have ox spine in it...which means I can have it with no ill effects...

It's weird though, I swear I've had the same bottle in the cupboard for getting on for the last 20 years now and it still tastes the bliddy same.

I think I'll be doing huge batches of arrabiata and my tomato chilli and olive salsa tonight.

Might try some fish in the arrabiata, some jumbo prawns maybe?

Anchovies or sliced rollmops would go really nice with a strong olive-tasting tomatoey sauce I reckon.

True story: my girlfriend used to love tartare sauce, but since she found out it contains capers she won't touch it.

I hate raw tomatoes, but cook them and I'm happy. Not too fond of peas or kidney beans but if they're mixed up with other stuff, then there isn't a problem.
