FFS - can you PLEASE put spoilers around the whole Clara's eyes debacle, or delete all references?

You have RUINED a major source of prime recreational baby-batter expulsion.

It's too late for me now but at least you can redeem yourself and save others.

Damn you. Damn you to hell.

Everybody should just calm down a little bit and have a nice cup of tea.

Well if we're lucky we'll get a classic "You will be like us" from nice mr Cyberman and that'll be the end of them. :D

As much as I loathed some of the 'specials' that RTD drenched us in saccharine with, I did enjoy that Dalek quip about 'War? This is not war! This is pest control!'

    :D

Everybody should just calm down a little bit and have a nice cup of tea.

@TOOTR I think of it like the supermodel who had a big mole on her face. Change it to a "beauty spot" and its a positive feature.

I do like Clara and her elegantly sloped eyeline.

There's something very odd about that photo. Cover the right half of her  face and you see an attractive young woman. Cover the left and you see a shrunken, withered spinster.

I'm just watching Blink right now, found myself at a loose end and fancied watching this. Such a good episode, so damn clever and one of the few that actually realised the potential in the time travel idea.

Have any episodes in the last couple of series vaguely lived up to this quality?

Also, Carey Mulligan is really cute, and I really like how they had a whole episode where the doctor was barely in it.

@Triggerhappytel spot on. The best episode of the new series, and Carey is definitely cute

From the early reviews it seems Gaiman hasn't quite knocked it out of the park like he did with The Doctor's Wife - probably the next best episode of Who since Blink. Shame.

    Beautiful tender beings.

Is the general gist 'gaiman was hamstrung by a pair of annoying kids'?

    ---------------------------------------------------------
    He totally called it

Well no, not just that. He may have been hamstrung by Moffat's guidance, or desired synopsis though.

Have never noticed the Clara eye thing, don't think it will haunt me, she's just cocking her eyebrow.

    Hehehe, cocking. Fnar.

I don't read advance reviews for Who episodes, or indeed anything I have any interest in seeing for myself, but I'd guess he was hamstrung by it being an episode about Cybermen and, therefore, having something of a pattern to stick to.

Whereas the Doctor's Wife struck me as the result of Moffat saying to Gaiman: "we've already fulfilled our quota of stock monster eps, go wild with something entirely original!"

I think that Great Britain must be the only place that survives the apocalypse, because every-time Doctor Who features humans in/from the future, they speak with British accents! Jack Harkness being the exception :).

TARDIS translation matrix. The writers have got every shortcoming covered.

Impossible, they've set expectations, therefore your enjoyment of the episode will have been affected. As per the spoiler argument in Big Bang Theory when someone tells Sheldon the latest issue is "mind blowing".

Stupid PAR article about how this series of Doctor Who has been utterly ruined by Clara.

Why the fuck Yanks think they can go making judgments on OUR sci-fi show, I do not fucking know. They're also wrong. Twats.

Only us Brits can moan on and on about Doctor Who each week. Everyone else ought to just be bloody grateful we let them see it in the first place.

I think she's the least annoying, most promising assistant yet. Actually that's not quite true, my all time fave of this new run was Donna.

Martha was the worst, so utterly annoying. Rose was okay but God I got bored of her. Amy was LOUD SHOUTY ATTITUDEY SCOTTISH GIRL. And that got annoying after just a few episodes. Just SHUT UP for once, Amy. And Rory was rather wet, a lot of the time.

I don't know how anyone could be annoyed by Clara, she's super hot! Anytime she gets to be on screen is ok in my book :). Also, does this mean that Brits can't complain about Star Wars or Kingdom of he Crystal Skull? ;)

So, there’s been a reference to each Doctor’s era in chronological order since The Rings of Akhaten. If this holds true, there should be a mention of Six’s in Nightmare in Silver, and Seven’s in the finale…

    Nice detective work done here

Much of the time Clara's talking, I imagine it being spoken by Pond, and to be honest I don't see how she's being written for any differently. It's just being played in a different accent, by a shorter girl.

What about the Eighth? Presumably this is all leading up to the 50th anniversary special.

Next week's episode sounds rather interesting btw.
