    Looks like #2 to me.

I don't get all this anxiety over killing colossi. Most of them were vicious, angry bastards that just wouldn't hold still!!

Yep. Killing those big hairy suckers felt good to me! I felt a little bit bad after number 11 I think (the little guy), but not too bad, he had been pounding on me for some time.

Managed to beat the game earlier ... what a wonderful ending! Some really beautiful music on the last boss and the end sequence.

I guess I should play ICO now.

I just went up to the Colossi wanting to talk and they tried to kill me! I took them down in self-defence.

Well, the first seven at least. I haven't touched the game since the weekend it came out. Not played anything else, either :(

Exactly. I don't understand all this "feeling bad" crap. They attack you on sight, what is there to feel bad about?

If a man chased after you with a club, would you feel bad about bashing his brains in, in defence?

    Yes.

Though I didn't feel bad about killing the colossi.

BTW, the game was way too easy first time through. I hope "hard" mode is a bit tougher.

I've done #9, #10 and #11 this week and all have disappointed. I guess the designers have tried to throw some variety into the game, but none of these really feature the 'colossal platforming' that made the previous batch so great.

#11 in particular, throws a completely new mechanic into the game; something you had no idea you could do. Took me forever to work that one out. :(

    EDIT: mouseover links for spoilerisms

The next one is an ARSE. But after that they are all good.

Of those, I actually only liked #10, verm, but they are more or less all good after that, with the possible exception of #12 depending on how lucky you are.

I did the climb yesterday! \o/
Don't want to spoil anything for anyone, but I have to say I was mildly disappointed.

That's a good thing... As soon as I noticed it, I became obsessed with getting to the top. I went on a rampage, hunting the white-tailed lizard to extinction and killing each colossus at least twice.

When I finally got to the top last night, I heaved a huge sigh of relief, but I knew straight away that it was the challenge of the climb and not what waited for me at the top that was driving me on.

So I killed myself and went to bed.

I want to climb all the way to the top purely so I can jump off to my doom. Falling enormous distances in games and feeling mild vertigo ftw (as the kids are saying these days).

I liked 9, 10 and 11 if only for the change of pace between them and also for the locations, particularly for number 11.

I never tend to try to find the right strategy quickly, I enjoy riding/running around observing the colossus and trying different things out as well as checking out the environment. I've really enjoyed taking this game slowly at my own pace. Even if it takes me hours (or days if I don't get the time) to figure the colossus out.

I do love that feeling of when you finally figure out the strategys, I get a right cold chill down my back!

12 is an interesting one, lots to do.

Oh, and number 13 is just jaw droppingly good. Took me a while to figure out the strategy but when I did OH MY GOD!!!

I found most of the strategies really obvious, actually. Except for maybe #11, #12 and #15.

Your probably right, the strategy on most of them are pretty obvious. I was probably a bit slow on some though.

The funny thing with this game for me is that even if the strategy jumped out at me, I tended to try something else just to see what would happen. Most of the time nothing much did happen but every now and again there was a nice surprise!

And I found the voice to be cryptic enough to still not get things too quickly!

Having had the game since october (or whenever) I've found that taking the game slowly has really helped my imagination get carried away with it! By that I mean that I really feel my mental concious is at one with the game. It's pace, setting, environment etc. I'm on the last colossus now and when I think of the game I think of the events that led up to that moment and this leads me to feel a strange real world emotional connection to the game, the wanderer and the all the colossi. This has been the case through out the game.

I feel that killing these gargantuan beasts is really starting to take it's toll on me. That's why the setting for the last colossus seems so poignant and apt.

It's really strange to be honest, it's like almost leading a double life. That's probably the reason why I slowed the rate I played the game at and why I don't want it to end.

Ok, finally finished this elf of a game 6 o'clock this morning. What about time attack and hard mode? Is there anything to be won doing these? Or is it just a nice little extra?

Thanks, mate. Not exactly tempting, you're right about that. So 'Hard Mode' only means that it takes more stabs to beat the colossi, no other changes?

God I'm stuck and annoyed yet again!

I'm on #11 or #12, can't remember what number. It's the one that emerges from the water, and you're told to "cross to higher ground". I got on his back and leaped onto one of the platforms... seemed good. He jumped up and slammed his feet on the platform, but I can't see where to jump on him. He has some grass on his stomach, but I couldn't see a weak point to jump and stab him there.

    :(

You'll only see the weak spot if your sword is drawn.

You must be blind then - that's where the weak point is :-/

EDIT: I also have a notion that weak points (or some weak points) won't reveal themselves until you hit them with the guiding light. Not necessarily directly, a preliminary scan from afar would be enough, just to get the characteristic rumble.

Ah, well thanks for clarifying where it is. I knew it HAD to be there, I was all out of ideas. I'll try shining the sword on it next time.
