Pink Floyd are one of the best bands ever. They just are, arguing against it is futile.

    Walters cock??

It is an awesome album. Especially the 2nd CD with the whole of DSOTM. DVD is even better.

Yeah, that thing is awesome. Not actually sure what it is, but ah well : )

That entire album is worth it purely for the solo to Comfortably Numb.
  • Deleted user 24 August 2008 22:26:20
DVD is worth it for the plane flying across earls court.

Yes. Piper at the gates does it for me. Nostalgic/sentimental reasons but there are a few good tunes in it, along with the madness ;)

My fave albums are Meddle and Atom Heart Mother, but obv. Dark Side, Wish You Were Here, and The Wall are pretty goddamn brilliant. And I rather like Gilmour's On An Island too, so there you go. And Water's Amused to Death is pretty fab (well, the first and last tracks are amazing at least).

See, I rather like Gilmour's vocals which is why I have no probs with either Momentary Lapse of Reason or The Division Bell - both of which have a couple of cracking tracks on them.

My favourite PF album is probably Meddle. Although I dont know about it being the best, its the one I probably listen to the most.

Also, the voice in One of These Days reminds me of the intro to Turrican. \o/

    WYWH for me.

As for post Waters efforts - Amused to Death is a phenomenal album by Waters alone, and division bell is a good listen too.

It's good, but not as good as Amused to Death. I like the explosion though :o)

Their worst album in my opinion, after hearing that I can see why they kicked Walters out. However it does have it's moments, but it does feel like the sweepings from the floor after they finished The Wall.

As for my favourite album it would have to be Pulse, which is a bit of a cop out I know. So for studio album it would probably be Wish You Where Here, although Dark Side gets a lot of love.

But but Pulse is entirely Walterless no?

Comfortably numb without the two vocals is shitbuckets.

    Dark Side of the Moon.

Great gig in the sky would be a great song to be cremated to.

A fair point, but Pulse contains more of my favourite tracks than Delicate Sounds of Thunder (my other fav of their live albums). In fairness it's a difficult choice as I'm a fan of most of their work.

Fans of Jeff Beck should check out some of his (fairly recent) solo albums.

'You had it coming' and 'Jeff' are fecking awesome.

Doesn't Rick sing Roger's vocal on pulse, or did I dream that?

IIRC he did an awesome job, and I'm a massive Waters fan.

Yeah but even so. You can't impersonate Walters. It's just wrong. It's upsetting.

Even 3 of them can't do it.
