    You updated?! For shame.

You can download a program that converts text files into a PSP formatted jpg file you can scroll through, but that's about it.

I upgraded 'cause I couldn't be bothered waiting for a downgrader that probably will never show, and 'cause the 2.0 video features alone were worth the upgrade to me.

Would it be possible to convert the ebook to html and read it with the web browser?

    JpegBook.

Only drawback is it ignores spaces for wordwrapping purposes.

    Example.

Bonus points if you recognise the story.

    PHPhoto - http://tokyopia.com/tk/downloads/PSPhoto2.0.zip - does a similar thing too.

If you upgrade to firmware 2.0, the browser can read text/html files directly from the memory stick (if you use the file:// protocol).

PS It's Mr Ellison's "I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream," and I claim my five pounds!

Oooh. Didn't think to use the web browser for .txt files. Makes the jpeg thingy rather redundant. Awesome.

Easily fixed by messing with indents. I won't through what I did to get "wordwrapping" working, but refer you to gamefaq.com's guide to formatting. Especially read the "How do I create a FAQ using Microsoft Word?" bit, but remember that setting the page margins to 6 3/5ths inches won't use the entire PSP screen effectively.

anyone know why, when reading txt in the browser it is formatted like this:

    xxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx
    xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxx
    xxxxx xxxxxxx
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx
    xxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxx
    xxxxxxxxx

    seems to wrap funny?

I think there's an option in the browser to change how pages are horizontally formatted to fit the screen. Try changing those and see if it helps.

(Sorry I can't be more precise, I don't have my PSP with me righ t now.)

Please could someone give more detailed instructions on reading text files from the browser? I can't get it to work.

What folder of the memory stick do you put txt files for it to work?

file://filename.txt doesn't work. It says "Content cannot be displayed." I've tried putting the text file in every single place it can go. Frankly I'm getting sick of entering the name a hundred times.

The browser doesn't have to be online, does it? I can't get online with it.

stupid question, but i assume you are entering the name of the file instead of filename.txt?

i put my txt in the root of the ms (outside of the psp folder) and it worked fine.

It's file:/filename, not file://filename. Only one forward slash. That got me a few times.

I've tried it both ways, and it gives the same error.

And yeah - of course I'm entering the name of the txt file, not "filename".
