    I'm 26 and over the course of the last year have become very thin on top. I think the time has come to shave it off. I'm thinking number 1 clippers all over.

    Hopefully a cure comes around in a few years and I will have a full head of hair by the time I'm 30. :D

    I'm 30 this year, and now it is starting to get thin. Not very thin, but I used to have very thick hair, and I can see myself being bald with 40.

    But honestly I don't think it is so bad, some friends of mine got bald in the early 20's, so I'm lucky I guess.

    Plus I had a shaved hair during my Army time, and it looked good enough, so I do have my plan B.

    I have to admit that I started to fight it last year, I use Alpecin.

    i have a few greys here and there, but the majority is a chestnut brown. :)

    I'm going bald but I've fought back! I let my hair grow long enough so it covers it's self up.

    I fear soon the growing power will be lost and I will have to let go :(

    :-D I do believe there's a hip hop hook based around that comment. "He's as smooth as buttered ice".

    I am pretty fortunate so far but I am already going quite grey at the age of 28. My brother is pretty bald so it seems like I got the other genes. In fact both my dad's brother and my mother's brothers all still have their hair, her dad still does at 90+, so I should be okay.

    when i started it, hairs would no longer come out in the shower. it seems to have stopped further loss and is cheap. this is the best preparation of the generic stuff i've found - 5% minoxidil, which is well documented regarding treating hair loss.

    but Alpecin works for me! well lets say it still works for me, there will be the time where it is hopeless i guess.

    I use the shampoo and the hairwater for after the shower.

    when I let my hair grow, you can see it better than when it is short, that they are thin for some reason.

    and no greys!! perhaps one, but no greys!

    I'm 25 and have always had what people call "fair" hair, so I always expected to go bald at some point, but I have over the last few months started receding at the front by the temples.

    But I went to the barbers the other day for a haircut (over the last year or so I have kept my hair short, before that I was a bit of a hippy) and she said "well you've always had quite light hair, BUT YOU'VE GOT LOTS OF IT" at first that made me think, wow maybe its not as bad as I thought, but then it hit me that she was probably just trying not to hurt my feelings!

    I'll never bother with any of this "magic" anti-baldness shampoo though. When theres a proper scientifically proven 100% cure for baldness I'll be there, but until that point I'll wait for my receding hairline to go far enough back before I go for the full on bald man look.

    Unfortunately I'm quite a slim build, so this will inevitably lead to people approaching me and telling me how brave I am as they mistake me for a cancer victim :(
