Not long till release now and I'm a little more interested in the game than I was back at E3.

The car list is being slowly revealed and already it's been confirmed that no Toyota production cars will feature and as things stand no sign of the Lexus brand either which is a shame as I rather liked the LFA.

Probably going to get the digital deluxe edition for the VIP pass and a few other in game bits. The ultimate edition comes with the VIP and car pass but I don't think I'll be needing more cars I won't end up using.

It's going to depend on the track list and career setup for me.

All of the cars! is great and all, but if it's the same old tracks on the same old event-based setup then it can wait til it's very cheap.

I'll be getting it. Love this series, though in recent years have actually found I enjoy the Horizon games slightly more than the main series.

Hoping they've fixed, removed (or at least made optional) the drivatar system; it was really broken in FM6. Agree with StarchildHypocrethes about the track list being more important than the car list. Too many driving games have a huge roster of cars, but you're bored of all of the tracks long before you get to see more than around 5% of the cars.

Would really like to see more "fantasy" tracks. Real-world ones are fine as well, but I do enjoy the results when Turn 10 let their imaginations go a little bit wilder; the Alps track, in particular, is a favourite of mine.

Also, why the hell does it have to come out on September 29th? All three of the games I really want this Autumn (FM7, Total War: Warhammer 2 and Blue Reflection) all come out on that date and it's pretty much the worst possible day for me; I'm not going to get any sensible gaming time for more than a week after that date.

As a fan of the series I've already preordered Forza 7. As others above I wouldn't mind a few more tracks though.
Now I just need to find a "reason" to upgrade to a XOX...

@brainbird This one will be PC all the way for me. The original PC release of FH3 had quite a few issues, but they kept plugging away at them and within a week or so it was the definitive way to play the game.

It will be interesting to see whether this will be the game the AI can finally drive around Long Beach without a pile up.

na, PCARS 2 seems to be where its at for actual racing.

Forza barely even lets you create your own races, and the career shit forces you to do last to first in 3 laps - not conducive to good racing.

Waiting to see if GTSport actually delivers on what it promises before I decide.

Couldn't pay me enough to touch pCars 2 however

Yup, lack of qualifying is a disgrace for a racing game.

I've been out of the loop since Forza 4... but they still haven't added qualifying?

I used to adore the series, but that has always been by far my biggest gripe. It's a stupid design choice in a game that purports to be a sim, and I can't believe they are still being so stubborn as to insist on the pseudo-randomised grids.

I understand a lot of casual players don't like it and they don't want to reduce it's accessibility, but there is absolutely nothing stopping it from being an optional choice, like nearly every other racing sim that has it. If the player chooses to skip it, then they can do the automated PI calculation bs.

Hope they've sorted a penalty system to stop corner cutting, i love Yas Marina but people cut 90% of the corners...

@Rogueywon I do all my gaming on consoles, never got into PC gaming. If someone could point me to a PC that lets me choose between a few PC games and loads of emulators with a joypad on start-up I'd re-consider my habits.

@brainbird Launchbox. Runs all your games and emulators from one program via a controller. Install it on a Pc, get it to launch at start up, job done :D

Thank you very much! Sounds like something I should have a closer look into. Sometimes all you need is a kind soul to point you in the right direction.

Notice something weird here? The recommended specs highlight 4GB of video memory, but then when listing specific cards, list the GTX 670. Which has 2GB of video memory.

Horizon 3 run on 2GB with an annoying pop up, no idea why its there myself but its all off the microsoft store page.

I'm just looking forward to a real Forza numbered game coming out on pc finally, a few friends who ditched consoles after the first xbox or 360 will be getting it and with my other account on pc can get a friend on the console to play with me in the same room.

Its not a real sim racer but its just where I like them to be heh.

@brainbird There's a few alternatives around with differing levels of ease of use etc. Any questions shout in one of the retro threads or chuck us a pm

Just shared a trailer on the Xbox. Pre order Forza 7 digitally and get the Hoonigan car pack free for use in Forza Horizon 3 released 15th Aug.

Don't know if you have to pre order before the 15th or not. It's probably in some small print T&C ect in the store so I'll try and look later if I get chance.

Already per-ordered the deluxe version although won't be playing until the XOX comes out. For the Motorsport series I find I never really use the DLC unlike in Horizon so no need for the ultimate version. Looking forward to it, the Forza series always hits just about the perfect mix of sim and casual racer for me while allowing a decent chunk of progress in the limited time I've got to put into gaming these days.

In the meantime PCars 2 is on the radar provided they nail VR this time. The first game is okay and clearly shows the potential of a good VR but they really need to sort the performance out. Initial mutterings seem good so fingers crossed.

For a game with "Motorsport" there's a massive lack of many features actual motorsports have. I thought the Nascar pack and patch that came with it was a massive step in the right direction. I like playing it a lot still, but the AI is all kinds of broken. Try Silverstone in the wet, you'll win every race because the cars get stuck at the final chicane.

So, uh, this is gonna be 95GB. It will have a 50GB day-one patch, though surprisingly it will be optional (I imagine it contains loads of cars and tracks), so people can simply play off the disc install alone if they so choose.

And that's not even counting the 4K data for the Xbox One X, which will come later.

This is gonna be one big game. Too bad Microsoft couldn't have multi-disc support ready for release.

Ouch. I don't have that much space left on my primary drive (SSD), it's already full of a few other AAA's that I'm still playing. The only other option would be to install it on my secondary HDD (use it more for static data backup than anything with plenty of space to spare), but not sure how that will perform then.

May have to consider giving this one a miss then... shame as I was looking forward to it:/

According to Turn 10 Studios, Forza Motorsport 7 will come on a single disc requiring 45 GB hard disc space. The rest of the game will have to be downloaded in the form of a gigantic day one patch weighing in at whooping 50 GB. The total size for the game that is required on day one is 95 GB. This makes it one of the largest game at launch on the Xbox One, but not necessarily the largest game ever.
The DF article had some info on new tech for making games multi disk, dont think it actually works right now so patch seems essential for now.

Demo tomorrow for Xbox and PC.

@SYS64738 I'm actually quite intrigued now, because of this. It really sounds like this will be one of the most content-packed racing games ever.

That said, I've never been a fan of standard Forza. I'll be checking out the demo tomorrow for sure, though.
