This has been released today (PS4).

    Lego World's gameplay

Only managed to have a quick blast so far but looks very promising, has anyone else picked it up and any thoughts so far?

Yeah just bought it to play with the daughter. Rude not to at that price. Not tried it yet though.

    @CompetitiveDad

Is it an open world/sandbox type thing ?

I'm definitely up for getting Lego Undercover in April.

@DUFFMAN5 yeah it is. I've bought it for a bit of daddy and son co-op action. Looks fantastic but I can't really comment as I've had limited play time.

This looks like it could be ideal to get my lad into gaming, split screen any good?

I'm really enjoying it. I suspect it is a whole lot easier playing with a mouse but it looks great.

    I'm happy.

Edit:. I'm in a world made out of Lego sweets riding on a pig for crying out loud!!!

Can't wait to play with the little fella.

Yeah we had an hour or so on it. Brilliant so far. At one point my boy was just standing there shooting chickens into a volcano.

Controls seem pretty good as well and although there is a bit of the odd framerate drop in splitscreen its not bad.

This will entertain us for quite some time I think!

The camera on this is pretty unhelpful and it's crashed a couple of times but otherwise it seems quite decent.

Hopefully it'll receive some further patches before they start shoving the inevitable DLC down our throats

I was gonna get this for my 10 year old daughter...but the reviews for it are not all that great and say that you've gotta grind through 100 gold brick quests before you can create your "own" world.

She won't care, she blagged a go on Horizon last night and thinks it's the bees knees.

Yeah the camera can be a bit fiddly when using the build tool etc... Navigating the world feels spot on.

You do have to find 100 bricks before being able to build a world from scratch, discovering the things to go in your world surely is the fun part? For me anyway.

I'm enjoying it a lot and its already gone down well with my five year old who loves real life Lego already. Plus as I bought Horizon digitally and then this for 24.99 I'll receive a tenner back in PSN credit so I'm even happier for 14.99.

Another hour or so there and we are at 20 gold bricks already. I'm the meantime we are having a hell of a lot of fun. Pie launchers, bazookas, bombs, buggies. We have no interest in creating our own worlds yet as it seems geared towards you gradually accessing larger maps and more discoveries as you go. I think if it just shoved you out there it would be far too overwhelming. As it is despite a niggley camera and lots to take in, we are really enjoying it. We have only unlocked small randomly generated worlds so far and we can build what we want in them.

Enjoyed this with the daughter this morning. Frame rate is a bit ropey in split screen though unfortunately.

Sounds like Peter Serafinowicz doing the voiceover though so that almost makes up for it. :)

Got this for the sprog. Any way to invert Y axis cos she's used to that?

EDIT: sorted it. Fucking hell, Traveller's Tales Lego games always feel rough.

Played for just over an hour this morning and the game crashed on me! Luckily I never lost any progress.

It's such a charming game, sky diving into a new world before landing like Mary Poppins using your umbrella never gets old.

Camera issues aside I can see me playing this for a very long time.

My main complaint is the picture of the game tile on the dashboard. It's soooooo boring! :)

I'm arriving at the conclusion that this game is fairly broken. Have had lots of issues with npc AI and getting stuck on scenery and a myriad of other glitches.. Leading to an inability to complete a fair few quests. The dodgy camera is a particular offender and the semi frequent game crashes have lead to a corrupted save.

This is clearly not ready for retail release but has been shoved out anyway under the radar to hook in some poor suckers (such as me)

It does have a slight beta feeling about it ! It's clearly built for mouse and KB as well. A lot of potential but kinda needs work. If your kids are very young they may find it hard to control compared to minecraft

Saw an NPC wandering around wanting a Jack hammer drill. Spoke to her and he handed it over and I got some bricks as a reward.... and now I have no jack hammer!

That's put the kiabosh on me drilling for treasure chests for the foreseeable future

@KRadiation can you not just duplicate it with the discovery tool?

The game has come up a few times with corrupted saves, think I'll leave it until a patch comes.

This looks quite remarkable (PC GTX1070 with graphics maxxed). Truly feels like a solid lego world(s) the way the sun catches the textures of the roofing slope bricks etc.

I've played a good few hours today and the sheer volume of stuff I'm finding is keeping me from doing proper jobs - meant to be moving house in 3 weeks and I should be working out what we need to dump or take, but this is great!.

Played some split screen and certainly saw it take a few hits (framerate) but looking forward to building new stuff with my kids...

On the downside - it may take quite some tiem to get used to the interface - and not sure how long it will be before we run out of biomes and new stuff.

    Lovely so far!
