    @neems

I bought Puyo Puyo Tetris a few months ago from the usa eshop, still have a few cents on it and have made many uk purchases since. Although I first set up a separate usa nintendo account, logged into it on the usa eshop and used an ecard to add credit to it.

I bought Sexy Brutale because Iíve been wanting to play it for a while.

It runs like an absolute dog. To the point that it kinda ruined the game for me. Iím not one for noticing things like this, either. Itís just stuttery and full of annoying loading pauses. Really disappointed.

That confirms what I'd heard from other places, then. Shame as I was going to get it. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah I should have created a separate account first, but it never occurred to me.

    Still, you live and learn.

Not going to bother with Sexy Brutale in its current state, which means I've got £20 burning a hole in my ePocket. Here's my watch list - what would you recommend oh wise EGers?

    Battle Chef Brigade
    Mantis Burn Racing
    Steamworld Dig 2
    Stardew Valley
    Golf Story
    Rocket League
    Rive
Shovel Knight (just the specter one for under a tenner, I don't want the expensive bundle)
    Fast RMX
    Snake Pass
    Graceful Explosion Machine
    Overcooked
    Resi Revelations 2

What types of games do you usually like? How many players will you be playing with?

Well i own them all besides graceful explosion machine and golf story.

Guess it depends on what your after. If you've never played Rocket League I'd say that. If you have then Rive is a great shooter which is tough in places. Mantis racing is really good, particularly when you get out of the rookie tier.
Stardew valley is like crack for a while. Battle chef brigade is totally unique and a lot of fun.

It's a bloody hard to recommend one.

Yeah fair questions - it'll mostly be just me, so probably the likes of Overcooked aren't worth it. Of that list the ones that I'm really hovering over are Battle Chef, Steamworld Dig and GEM. Maybe Rive and Stardew. How is BCB holding up after extended play, for those who have it? I've only seen early impressions.

I guess I'm really asking which of those *you* really like (I mean not just you specifically, anyone who cares to answer!). I'm pretty good at parsing folk's impressions and working out what I'd like :)

Iíd say Rocket League is amazing even if youíre playing on your own. The online is amazing and I just canít stop playing.

Iíd also vote for Steamworld dig - yet to buy it, but the first was a favourite on the Wii U and apparently this is more of the same.

Heh, Rocket League is a great game and I'm sure Stardew is too. I just don't know if I can commit the time they both need to get the most out of them :)

BCB - a nice mix of platforming and puzzling

Stardew Valley - great game, not as good as Story of Seasons Trio of Towns on the 3ds though. Recommended

Golf Story - good but I wouldn't recommend it actually. It's not as good as it looks and is a lot simpler than I'd hoped.

Rive - difficult right from the start. Butcher is a cheaper alternative.

Snake Pass - I found it very frustrating. Couldn't get on with the controls. Other EGers loved it.

Graceful Explosion Machine. Bought it months ago but hardly played it. I prefer Blazing Star and Strikers 1945(?)

Overcooked. Only worth it for two or more players. May cause arguments.

Res Evil 2. I don't like it. It's like walking down a corridor and occasionally killing zombies. I hear the raid mode is really fun.

One thing about BCB is it's short. Like it's only a few hours long. Rive I found to be the perfect length, around 8 hours and still plenty of other modes to try. Mantis Racing has a massive single player career mode.

@Addy_B Short is OK for me. I've finished LA Noire now so I'll be picking Skyrim up next :)

    @monkman76

Also Has Been Heroes. A very difficult puzzle / tower defence type game with a poor tutorial and high learning curve. My under-appreciated game of the year.

And Vostok Inc. Early impressions are favourable. A weird mic of twin stick shooter and idle clicker with a good sense of humour.

Gonner. A very hard alternative to Rive and Butcher.

Super Beat Sports. A fun rhythm / music game. Not the best tunes but it has quite a lot of content and is fun in 2 player mode. More of a party game.

Fair one I think Rocket League is huge and takes time to get good at. To be fair Iíve enjoyed it throughout.

Steamworld I think only 20h to 100%? So I read. First I remember was short, but fantastic.

Resi revelations 1 was really enjoyable on 3DS.

From that list, I would go for Shovel Knight.

Oh wait, just the Specter one. Maybe not.

Steamworld Dig 2 is brilliant. Great, great game.

    So is Stardew Valley.

I hate Shovel Knight, but you know that.

Overcooked is fantastic for local coop. Singleplayer makes no sense.

    Fast RMX is ok-ish.

For the record there is a lot of value in the Shovel Knight Treasure Trove bundle. Currently 3 campaigns with different knights, and with a 4th to be added early next year.

@Duffking Fantastic game! Wonder how co-op will work, the original didn't have online I don't think. Presumably local over 2 Switches.

Is Enter the Gungeon like Binding of Isaac?

I didn't really get on with Isaac as a session lasted too long.

Ooh, I always fancied Enter the Gungeon but was annoyed it didn't come to Vita. Heh, I'll never end up buying anything as I'll be hovering and then something else is announced.

@Pipedream Not really, it's more like a twin-stick bullet hell shooter with a huge pool of guns. Which kind of sounds like Isaac, but it plays quite differently.

Long play sessions were never a problem for me because the game is HARD.

The extremely lame of a name "The next Penelope" is out soon. Looks great.

@Pipedream sort of, think bullet hell shooter meets smashtv / roguelike.

Watch some videos, you'll get the idea.
