    Hearts, ok. I'll cook up some elixirs / meals before going in.

    @quadfather you can use the guy who let's you switch hearts and stamina.

    Went 3 stamina wheels recently and it's the way to go. Climbing is easy now, so much freedom!

    Yeah, you could - not sure if Rob has found that bit yet though

    @robc84 extra hearts don't count. Gotta do them shrines. ;)

    Bastards.

    I've done like 55 shrines but have been mostly upgrading stamina.

    How many do I need?

    @robc84 13 or 14, can't remember. :)

    There is a statue near your house where you can exchange stamina for hearts and back again.

    @robc84 it's only 20 rupees or so. I didn't think of it until afterwards though. Not that I ever actually use the bloody thing tbh.

    Made it to the korok forest and found the sword. Glad I listened to you guys first and saved myself a bit of time. I can go guardian hunting now :)

    Looking at the trials next. I have to say, this whole 'lost in the forest' mechanic is a bit annoying though.

    Booted this up for the first time in about six months. Gave master mode a quick try, then loaded my original save and wandered around on that for a bit. Haven't even touched any of the DLC bits yet. Basically can't decide whether to finish the game up properly on the normal save, or start the whole thing again on master mode...

    My next playthrough will be in Master mode. I think Iwould find it too hard to jump straight into the DLC after such a long time away. Besides, the higher difficulty will certainly be interesting.

    Finished dlc 2 off today. I'd definitley recommend doing so before completing the rest of the game.

    I think it os fair to say the dlc is underwhelming, but only because the main game is so damn top drawer.

    Still it has given me an extra 10-15hrs play time which has taken all my gaming since it ls release bar two sessions on Sea of thieves.

    Such a great game, just wish the story dlc actually delivered on the story...

    From what I played of it, and reading around, it basically just forces you to be stealthy and avoid combat altogether in the early hours. Which sounds great - problem is, once you do get better weapons/equipment, it just becomes annoying as the enemies are damage sponges (with regenerating health), making combat a chore. It's a shame because I'd love any excuse to play through it all again with a bit more challenge, but it sounds like they made the wrong changes and imbalanced the whole experience a bit as a result.

    Oh. That doesn't sound too good. Maybe I'll just leave it for an even longer period of time and just start over on the standard difficulty.

    Finished the Champions Ballad DLC yesterday and like a few others here think the champions could have been part of it in a more interesting way but overall I really liked it. I’m not usually one for trying to decide clues but quite enjoyed using the pictures on the monuments and scanning the map, realising whilst doing it that I’d got to know the topography quite well.

    All in all well worth doing and the upgrades to abilities will not doubt help with the end game.

    It’s fun enough. Main problem with both DLCs is that all the rewards are next to pointless as you’ve already finished the game.

    Right, after getting it at launch but only putting in about 10-15 hours, I'm on this. Got to the boss of the first Divine Beast yesterday but found him quite tough, so exited to get some of those radishes etc to give me some extra hearts. Only have four hearts as it is so think also time to get some more shrines completed - got two of those little orb things so two more and that's another heart, bosh!

    Got me a few more hearts, more of the world uncovered and now completed the first divine beast! Wahey!

    @Humperfunk

    Save the Gerudo one for last. Try the Rito one next. ;)

    Coincidently, I just completed the Zora beast today too. I hadn't planned an order, just happened to head that way first.

    Lovely game. Really neat puzzles. I find that I mainly play the Switch undocked and it works great.

    Not sure where I will head next. Might just jump Link off a mountain and see which way the wind blows us.

    Yeah I have played the vast majority handheld, although maybe the last 7-10 hours on the big TV with the Pro pad. Both fantastic ways to play, such a good console.

    Haha ok maybe won't do the Gerudo one next - think my plan is mostly to build hearts and stamina as much as possible now so like RelaxedMikki I may just see where my adventuring takes me!

    The game strongly points you towards doing the Zora beast first. But the Rito/Gerudo ones probably have the most useful abilities as a reward for them.

    Is it normal to just run about a bit aimlessly at the start? Genuinely no idea where the 3rd and 4th shrines are.

    I'm not asking for help (yet) just unsure if I'm being a total div and missing something that should be obvious.

    You should be able to see where they are from where the old man first showed you. Look through your binoculars and mark them. They should be glowing pretty prominently.

    I did that, I could only really see one other shrine. Everything else I marked ended up being well outside the starting area :p

    Div it is, then :D
