Been wanting to play this for ages but waiting for the Switch version. Should be the perfect pairing!

I've just come of the game now...been on it since 11am, only stopping for food & piss breaks. Totally lost track of time!

Amazing game. So charming and reminds me of Animal Crossing/Harvest Moon, for all the RIGHT reasons!

    I still can't fish though?

I spend my days watering plants because I don't have the bits to get the better sprinklers.

Looking at Youtube videos, I've been missing out on so much. I'm coming towards the end of Fall, Year 1 and I've cleared my land of trees/rocks/logs etc to make room for crops. Growing all sorts for my bundles.

Definitely worth waiting for that, it will be ideal on the Switch. And full kudos for the guy who made the game even though it's just a mixture of the best of a number of previous games.

This is Ł6.49 on PS4. Seriously tempted by it as I loved Harvest Moon on the GB SP! Is it pretty much like that?

It's a great game, at that price grab it. I doubt you will be disappointed.

It's like a 'best of' Harvest Moon game that includes a lot of the best main features of previous Harvest Moon games. Story of Seasons (which is the title of the 'proper' HM games now) probably has a deeper feature set, all things considered, but there's still a ton of things to do in Stardew Valley.

Definitely enjoying this. Just coming up to the end of my first season and it makes a nice change from the likes of Battlefield etc.

The only pet peeve is that it'd be nice if your storage was linked to your backpack when going to any of the crafts people.

what I would give for an iOs version of this! Love the game, but playing on my iPad would mean I'd have more time for it.

Stardew Valley releases on the Switch later today. Here's the link for the e-shop so you can buy it later on this afternoon. Probably around 2pm UK time.

I read a tip to go in blind and just enjoy discovering everything for yourself - I’ll be doing that I think.

That's true. It's more for later in the game when you want to know specifics. The above is spoilered anyway, I think.

I'm day 8 spring after about 3+ hours and I'm definitely enjoying it even though I'm fumbling around blind without any clear progression

I've grown some turnips and then dumped a bunch in the box for a lot of gold but I kept a few back and used them to boost my energy to help me clear out some of my farm.

Also, is there a way to drop stuff?
For example I crafted a chest but had a full inventory so the only way to keep the chest was to swap it with something crap in my inventory and then choose to bin the crap item.

Really enjoying it so far. Just mooching along slowly making more cash and clearing my farm of all the foliage etc. Caught a few fish. Need to meet 4 more townsfolk for the quest at the start.

    @crashVoodoo

It says I've got 25/28 so not sure who I've yet to come across. Some areas I can't get to yet so we shall see.

I'm finding the exhaustion mechanic a ballache. Woke up early and decided to water all my veggies. I was exhausted by 9.30 with nothing else I could do. Went back to bed.

Just eat stuff to bump it back up. That's what I've been doing. The game is like crack for me. Just spent over 3 hours on it. I can't remember the last game I did that with in one sitting.

@Addy_B I'd got nowt to eat. Sold it all.
I'm stockpiling for a mining adventure in a couple of days. Been round the village picking berries and made some energy bars ready for the trip :)

Heh according to reddit, naming one of your animals after an NPC will lead to a corrupted save.

A couple of tips for the Switch version

    - The minus button opens the quest menu. Complete them to gain rewards

    - Don't overfill your inventory as you'll have to throw something away in the trashcan in the right

    - Build a chest to store your extra inventory

    - The right stick controls the mouse pointer

There's not a lot of guidance in the game so it's best to do whatever you feel like doing. The story emerges as time passes.

Mining adventure eh? I've only come across one cave and that was tiny and didn't look like I could do anything in it. I'm happy to just get my farm in order at the moment. It needs a massive clean up!

I'm on day 9 and no mention of it yet. My main aim at the moment is to get a bigger rucksack, rod and build a coop.

I've found that some craft items can't be selected with the stick. Momentarily turn off 'use controller style menus' and use the mouse pointer to select instead.
