Still Refused for me, although Fugazi also deserve to be mentioned.
I love Fugazi, especially Red Medicine, The Argument and End Hits, but they're hardcore. Consensus in this thread seems to be for drawing a line between hardcore and punk, which I can go with if I must.

Millencolin circa 2000-2002, pure awesomeness! Also seen no mention of Pennywise yet, admittedly most albums sound the same but they have some tunes.

I did mention Pennywise. Its all about Bro Hymn. What a song, always gets my blood pumping, I love gang vocals.

Every album is a winner, John Feldman really knows how to write a bloody catchy song.

In the past, I think Nomeansno had the biggest impact on me. The last stuff that really got under my skin would be Is this Real? and Over the Edge by Wipers (and I can barely stand Youth of America), Big Black, and I have no problem whatsoever branding God is LSD punk. Chronologically the last band I thought was any good would be Fucked Up.

Some of them are stretching the definition a bit but hey, its all good.

Undertones a punk band? And Ash!? Seriously, that's not stretching a definition, it's just totally not the same The Undertones were a pop band ffs!

Spanky is on the money, punk died years a-fucking-go anyway.

    I did my first stage dive at a Goldfinger gig(at The Foundry in Brum RIP), before they put stage barriers up at every show but the crowd parted and I landed flat on my back. ;_;

On second thoughts, I've got to go with a few truly honourable mentions:
Peter Hammill for "Nadir's Big Chance" (1975, mind you)
Patti Smith for "Horses" (same year)
    Hüsker Dü for "Zen Arcade"
Dezerter for that seminal, debut EP
Po Prostu for "One Hate Doktorate"
    Misfits for their early stuff
    Joy Division for everything
Therapy? for "Never Apologise Never Explain"
    The Jesus Lizard for "Shot"
...und so weiter, und so weiter. Childhood is a serious matter.

Also been listening to Face to Face recently, forgot how good the don't turn away album is.
Anything that can use a Dr Seuss line is top quality to me :p

Complex genre definitions put to one side I'd concur with The Clash, Minor Threat, Bad Brains [although my favourite album is I against I which doesn't really sound like 'punk'].

Also, in 2000 Rancid managed to forget their Clash worship to produce my favourite 'punk' album of the last 20 years [self titled]. Particular highlight is Antennas.

Does any body remember "Waiting for Taylor"?

they were around a few years ago on the UK tours of small clubs pubs and bars but never really made it anywhere, if anyone can help me find some of their stuff I'll be eternally grateful.

I can't view the YouTube link at work but couldn't you just rip the audio from the video and turn it into a MP3? :)
