Watched an episode of Dollhouse (because of Joss Whedon) but it seems mostly dour-faced and humourless, with no cast chemistry to speak of.
Sirtacos - when I watched Dollhouse, I was most disappointed to begin with. The first few episodes just seem to be a bit 'meh'.
But then I got to 'Spy In The House Of Love' and it just took off!
Second season a bit the same - started slow, but well worth seeing through to the conclusion.

I watched this again last week, christ it's wonderful.

    "He robbed from the rich
And he gave to the poor
    Stood up to the man
    And gave him what for
    Our love for him now
    Ain't hard to explain
    The hero of Canton
    The man they call Jayne"

So much genius I don't even know where to start.

Stay strong, Browncoats! Whedon STILL hasn't given up on Firefly....

"I'll never really accept it and I always, in the back of my head, think, 'What if I could get the old gang back together?' ... Well, you know, it's something I would love to do ... Part of me is like, 'God, it would be great when I finish Avengers 2 to do that.’ I suspect very strongly that after Avengers 2 the next thing I do will be a one-man show, possibly one monkey."

Never seen that before, enjoyed. Places where the budget obv wasn't quite there, but didn't really detract.

Could Kickstarter bring Firefly back to life? Joss Whedon says... "Probably. Well, maybe. But sadly, not now"

    Joss spoke to BuzzFeed:

My fourth feeling when I read about [the Veronica Mars Kickstarter campaign] was a kind of dread. Because I realized the only thing that would be on everybody's mind right now. I've said repeatedly that I would love to make another movie with these guys, and that remains the case. It also remains the case that I'm booked up by Marvel for the next three years, and that I haven't even been able to get Dr. Horrible 2 off the ground because of that. So I don't even entertain the notion of entertaining the notion of doing this, and won't. Couple years from now, when Nathan [Fillion]'s no longer [on]Castle and I'm no longer the Tom Hagen of the Marvel Universe and making a giant movie, we might look and see where the market is then. But right now, it's a complete non-Kickstarter for me.”

“We come to Veronica Mars to hear her talk and hear her father talk. ButFirefly/Serenity, it's kind of a different animal — and then there's also the question of what kind of animal it is. Because some people are talking about Firefly episodes. Some people are talking about [a new] Serenity. I think anything we could get off the ground would be appreciated by the fans. But what form it would take is I think under some debate.

For me, [Kickstarter] doesn't just open the floodgates. God knows, things are cheaper now than when we made even Serenity. Good effects can be done in a different manner. Nor is that universe all about spectacle either. But it is a tad more expensive — and a little all-consuming! And of course, there's the other fear: What if it's not that good? I can do something that's not that good — that's fine. But if I do thatand it's not that good, I'm going to feel really stupid.”

Whatever happened to the tradition of linking to a picture of a comely Firefly lady? Did it die out pages and pages ago, or was that a different thread?

I bumped into and spoke to Alan Tudyk today...

He was walking his 3 dogs very near to the Hollywood sign and we almost ran them all down in our van (I wasn't driving - it was the only American and female of our group). Unfortunately he wasn't all that jovial.

I still thought it was awesome :)

    YAAAY!!!

You should have screamed "I am a leaf on the wind..." as you ran him over. :D

It was OK to leave him to die. He's not in the show any more anyway.

30 seconds after apologising I realised I should have said "sorry. She's not a leaf on the wind, she's a terrible driver".
It may have made him a bit more talkative. Hindsight... :(

To be fair, he's probably had it up to here with all the Firefly quotes people throw at him all the time.

Has he been in anything worthwhile recently? I haven't seen him anywhere.

Years ago a friend of mine ended up at a house party with Simon Pegg. His mate (my friends) somehow accidentally got a cappuccino foam whisk stuck in Simons girlfriends hair. Cue him saying "Just who the fuck are you guys and who invited you anyways?"

    To wich my friend replied
"My friend lives in Sweden and he's a massive Spaced fan"

Which completely diffused the situation as Mr Pegg tried to figure out how anyone in Sweden could be watching Spaced (this was before piratebay)

    Yes, OT.

Perfectly reasonable thing to say when someone creams your GF's hair IMO. :)

    Who asked for this?

    Nobody.

    Nobody on Earth!

    Nobody in the gorram 'verse.
