I'm still waiting on the continue-play.com review until I make my decision.

I'm still getting it as I've no desire to play anything else at the mo. Also if anything I could do with something that makes me laugh at this present time.

They really need to hire writers with actual experience of human interaction. The "romance" scenes I've watched are even more awful than the original trilogy's...

My expectations had been tempered by Mass Effect 3 and DA:I, so it was always going to be a "wait and see" approach for me.

I'll wait and see if it approaches me in a sale.

I think Fallout 4 has really made me step back from these types of games.

Fallout4 almost broke me, but i absolutely will finish the story one of these days.

I'm having to force myself to do it though. :(

It pains me given how much i enjoyed the previous two.

Will the DF face-off be posted today?
I'm especially interested in PS4 Pro performance and if there's a 60fps option.

I now feel like a lemon for preordering. My copy is on its way from Simply. I don't know if I should even start the game. I am thinking about just flogging it on ebay while I can recoup most of what I paid for it. I've never bought a game and sold it without even playing it before, but the lacklustre reviews have severely dampened my enthusiasm for Andromeda.

So now I have decided to wait on this (I'm still wanting to get, must be strong), I need the hive mind to tell me what to play next ;)
    Do I start:
Skyrim re-master (played about 5 hours of original game on 360 years ago)
    re-roll ME3
    Dishonoured 2
FF15 (never played a FF game before)
The Witcher 3 dlc, not started either of them.
    Division (lvl 10)

I need to factor in that I'm really only interested in playing Gears daily!!!

Thank you, my next question is what side should I dress tomorrow :)

About reviews... EG says combat is cool but story and characters are shit. I've read two other reviews, one says the combat is shit and the story is great, but characters are shit with only Vetra being halfway interesting. The other one says the story is shit except the characters are great, with the exception of Vetra who is a bit dull. I stopped caring a lot about reviews before, and this just confirms it.

edit: one of them, the Forbes one, says:

I have a feeling that Mass Effect fans will enjoy the game, but I donít think anyone will claim it outclasses the original trilogy, outside of maybe the very first game.
That has to be the most preposterous thing that has ever been said ever. This is grotesque even by vizzini standards.

One thing that the site review doesn't make clear is whether Andromeda is a self contained story with it's own resolution, or is it part of a whole? With a greater overarching story that will unfold in Andromeda sequels.

There was also great controversy about the lead writers of the trilogy. It was Drew Karpyshyn in ME1, him and Mac Walters in ME2 and Mac Walters only in ME3. Many shouted abuse at Mac Walters because the transition of lead writers coinciding with the decline of story/writing made it look like he was the culprit.

But there were also doubts. It's not necessarily as if he was behind everything, it's a team of writers making these games. And as director Casey Hudson always had the final say, and he famously decided that the ending of ME3 should be like it was before the extended cut, against the will of the writers.

Andromeda's story is frequently thrashed, and this time Mac Walters was the director. So I guess that settles that.

Bioware always claimed it's a standalone game and not part of a trilogy or something. It's not as if Bioware had always been honest though...

It's probably not as simple as that.

It has to be, it would be too annoying to deal with ever more shades of grey. But anyway, I'm not too grumpy, as it's a massive step up from the previous game.

That's why it was such a shocker, I loved that franchise, so I know how much the Mass Effect fans are feeling, conflicted.

Maybe they're working on a new IP and don't want to commit to such a large undertaking, the changes to the structure of Mass Effect do lend themselves well to scaled back support continuing via DLC packs rather than full blown releases, I couldn't see EA objecting.

I dread to think what sort of new IP 2017 Bioware would make though.

To be honest, as bad as it is, it gives me some Skyrim vibe. As in, it's so broken and silly that it's often good for a laugh.

Is this true that the lead facial animator was some cosplayer with no experience?

I've just seen a comment on a YouTube video stating so with a lot of replies commenting it's a fact. But that seems incredibly unlikely and stupid.

Would anybody here pick up The Division Gold Edition over any Mass Effect game? That's on sale on PSN in the Ubisoft flash sale. Gameplay-wise, doesn't it scratch quite a similar itch?

Andromeda will only get better over time. The Division is already as good as it'll get.

P.S. Did Division get PS4 Pro support?

It has minor pro support. The division was awesome but its now dying and quite quickly. Nothing like mass effect other than being a 3rd person shooter though tbh.
