This feels on the same level as Mafia III. Good looking in places, fun for what it is, but nothing special and not a patch on earlier entries in the series.

Glitches and bugs are somewhat expected these days but this shit is unacceptable in my opinion.
    That sounds like Vernon Roche.

@Phattso Yeah, pretty much. Is it going to live up to the previous trilogy? Nah. Having played through and enjoyed the trial though, I知 pretty much certain I知 going to enjoy the game, jank and all.

And as long I can punch / sex aliens in the face and they patch in a way to skip those pissing planet transitions, I'll give this 17 Space Points.

I think I just enjoy Bioware's schtick. I even liked DA2. Whack on a space theme too and I'll just lap it up.

I used to be a fan, but it feels so watered down now (and clearly isn't the same people any more) that it's just a label on someone else's product. At least that's how it feels to me after DA:I and what I've seen of Andromeda.

Suspected all along that this would be average.

Yet another modern AAA title that is just a different shade of beige.

    Yawn. Avoiding.

@Derblington Thanks for your review. How many planets are there you can land on and do side missions?
Couldn't give you a number - I don't remember. I think I went to 7 or 8 planets total, including the starting location with the FLOATING ROCKS.

I still can't believe EA would shove this one out the airlock without a suit. What's the practical reason for it?

    It beggars believe.

Yeah, this is basically where I am. Played my ten hours, liked it a lot despite some clunkiness and the writing feeling a bit off. And yes, those planet transitions, while kind of cool the first time, get old fast!

I'm looking forward to finding out more and drinking in the sights, and I really do like that it reminds me of ME1 in a fair few ways. The combat is fun, and should be even better when I have access to more profiles and favourites. It's still all about biotics though!

One way to one-shot enemy shields:

OK thanks. Suspected as much, but lack of content is apparently not the issue anyway.

Huge fan of the first trilogy but for some reason really haven't been bothered about this one.

My brother is getting it though, so will borrow off him in the summer me thinks.

    Yeah this is me too.

I'll pick this up but not hankering to play it right away, got a tonne of other games on anyway.

Am sure i'll enjoy it for what it is.

    The Forbes review is a fair bit more positive and considered than the true gaming press seems to be, but this quote, wow - can that really be true?!;

Also, it痴 beyond strange that across these five incredibly varied ecosystems, the game uses the same three alien animals in all of them. Not exaggerating. There痴 a little spiky dog thing that attacks in packs, a dinosaur-like thing that whips you with its tail, and the hulking armored brute that you致e seen in the gameplay demos, but all show up on every planet in 電esert, 屠ungle and 妬ce variants that are literally just color changes. The lack of diversity here is surprising considering how big this game is in all other aspects.

I think they池e with the Kett, who I壇 assume crop up throughout.

There are some small green poison spitting things on Eos in the trial. No idea if they reappear anywhere else though.

Apparently when it rains, water runs down Ryder's face... instead of his / her helmet visor.

Would I tip a waiter who spilled soup over my crotch?

I wouldn't pay the full asking price for this shoddy work either.

Is this yet another game where instead of simply pressing a button, you have to hold it (like with No Man's Sky or Destiny) even for the simplest actions?

It seems more and more games do this. I get that this lowers the risk of triggering actions by mistake, and it's fine if that mechanic is used for such situations, but it's not like accidentally gathering Spinmetal for crafting in Destiny has any adverse effects.

I'm still looking forward to it, but may sit for a bit and wait for a patch. I'll maybe keep revisiting Fallout 4 for a bit more and try to get that done instead. Or Dishonored 2.

The DA:I comparison bit in the review does perturb me, because there was a lot of pointless filler in that.

So much, even my OCD RPG explore/collect tendencies couldn't be arsed doing most of it after the first area!
That's an idea, I could go back and play the bit crappy Fallout 4 and the bit crappy DA:I to ease me into playing the bit crappy Mass Effect Andromeda.

Quite possibly since they have less standards and game experience to compare it with. I bet if I showed Andromeda to my nan, she'd think it was amazing.

Yeah! Buy a phone if you don't want to see his shitty youtube link! The signature is just to upset PC users. Ubergine has a phone and he doesn't have to see his own youtube link!

Don't worry Ube! I've got your back brah!

Just watched the Giant Bomb quick look. Looks genuinely terrible. The 'Straight to DVD' description of it fits well. Story, characters, animations, voice acting, dull quests, janky as fuck, the loading between planet hopping... What a mess.

Still can't see past the douchy main character or the Play-Doh faced female lead.
