'Lovecraftian rhythm violence' sounds incredible. Gonna pick this up today!
I love the Switch for these smaller games but in this case I'd say Thumper is best on PSVR. Really mental being inside that world with the music thumping.
The amount of times I took an easy hit because I was craning my head up to look an enormous boss above me whilst the bastard's first sneaky attack was pelting along the track.

I found the timing easier in VR as well. That said, with headphones up full, this could be a great way to occupy some time on a train etc. I might have to double dip :)

Thumper is like an 'Amon Tobin on ket' simulator.

The mood kind of reminds me of the darker moments of Rez. The gameplay is sort of like Guitar Hero, but with one button. Finished the second level this morning, and loving it so far.

The feedback rumble has had a bit of thought put into it too.

PSVR is almost too intense for Thumper! Switch is a much cheaper point of entry too for those that can't afford the outlay for PSVR + Camera.

Or for people who don't want to spend 400 backing a dead horse

Judging by the PSVR demo, it's awesome in VR, but it's the kind of game I'd play here and there in short bursts I think, so the effort of using PSVR every time might be too much. Really tempted by the Switch version.

    Isn't that what PSVR costs?

Not the switch, the switch is awesome

@Devilligan can you tell me how many people can pay local co-op in one switch? I'm seeing 2 in some places and 4 in others.
    4. You can even play 4 In tabletop mode but it's a little hard to see.
Thanks. Might pick it up then. Does it play 4 player docked as well?

@GuybrushThreepwood So far, with every game released, if it supports 4-players, that will be in both docked and portable modes.

That's literally how much a psvr set up cost me? Not factoring the price of a PS4 or ideally a Pro. Or two move controllers which are essential for a few of the games.

I'm reading that some people have had issues with TV lag and Thumper in the past and that, playing handheld aside, that could be a problem here too?
A TV with 50+ milliseconds of lag is going to kill the timing on this a bit, no?

It's 350 RRP isnt' it? Can find them for less than that very easily.

Bah it doesn't matter anyway. It's not a dead horse and Thumper is really cool in Vr that's the main thing!

You need to budget for that John Lewis vase you break while flailing about though.

Talking about cost of entry. I can't believe Arms isn't sold as a bundle with extra joy-cons. It's 80 quid retail for the extra pair you will need plus 50 for the game. If you shop around you might be able to get both for 115. Wow.

It's 350 but you need to buy the camera too which for some reason isn't included. Anyway, I feel I got value out of mine, even though its now a bit of a dust collector.

Seems fine to me. I think the game is quite generous with timings for hits.

Yup, downloaded it earlier. Seems like today is Thumper, the demo and another Neo Geo fighter - Galaxy something something. It's nowhere near as good as Garou apparently so a bit of a damp squib.

I went for the joycons from Amazon at that price. It said approx 2 months for delivery but they've now been dispatched after four days.

I've got two sets of grey joycons now. None of that kiddy neon shit for me I thought. I even turned down the option of a free snipperclips dowload to get the second grey set.

Then I saw my mates neon the other day and thought they looked awesome. As do the new Splatoon ones. As do the yellow ones.

My console looks like a Spitting ImageJohn Major. Fucksticks.
