That was on the ISTYA list, but then my mate went and watched it by himself, the bugger.

Basil Poledouris is one of the film composers whose name I actually know. The COnan work is fantastic - Anvil of Crom is my favourite.

Even I don't have anything good to say about Xanadu, and I'll defend any old shite.

This week on ISTYA we're watching...

The dynamic duo of dubious memory settle down with some popcorn to enjoy a celebration of marriage, decaptitation, and african clothing. Yes, it can only be Wedlock.

    This week ISTYA watches...

In thier most vintage effort yet, the histograviewers at ISTYA travel back to the 50s to battle invisible alien brains. This of course should match their own rather hard to spot minds.

You rented Wedlock when your parents were at the pub? Is that because you wanted a techno thriller or you liked the look Mimi Rogers on the box? (Or Rutger if that's your inclination.)

Not to be confused with any spaceships flown by rogue smugglers, this week ISTYA peeks at a future where jumpsuits pervade, androids have human eyes, and life makes no sense whatsoever. Come with us to the 'Millennium' along with Kris Kristofferson and Cheryl Ladd.

The book that's based on is pretty good, the film not so much, but it's still worth a watch for the intriguing idea.

Honestly, on reflection, I think it was the worst film I have *ever* seen.

It's not *that* bad. The future stuff is naff and done on the cheap, but the present-day stuff is interesting enough. Plus: Daniel J. Travanti.

Was it though? Was it? I think the only way to be sure is to listen to the show.

(In this case you're not far off.)

Just been told that a quirk with the hosting company means this week's show can't be uploaded quite yet. It's done though and should be up soon.

A bona fide classic. But I would say that about anything with Rockets Redglare in it.

I had to look him up. I think there is a Fallout New Vegas mission named after him.

Interesting point. Maybe we should have said films that make us feel old, or something like that.

Certainly the idea of the show is to compare what you remember about film back then and what's it's like now.

Oldest film we've watched so far is from 1958, Fiend Without A Face.
