This is either an April Fool or one of the most tragic/funniest news stories I have ever read

    Edit: Daily Mail link warning

    @tincanrocket

The man went into the Zambian bush while he allowed a hyena (not the animal pictured) to attack him.
Not the animal pictured, really? Thanks for pointing that out Daily Mail. *rolls eyes*

Is the new Michael Jackson album an April fool's? I saw it mentioned last night but didn't bother reading the article.

Trouble is now whenever I see a slightly strange story I half think it's an April Fools. BBC Breakfast had the top story of you shouldn't be eating 5 pieces of fruit and vegetables, you should be eating 7. I don't know whether I should believe that or not. Grow up, news agencies. You're not at school now.

I am now a miserable old git.

Most of the newspapers I read don't seem to be bothering with a fake story at all (unless they're just really cunningly hidden). Perhaps because they're paranoid about getting complaints from people who thought it was real.

Also, the news that iTunes is coming out for android. That's fake right?

5 is actually the bare minumum, in some countries you're supposed to eat 9 :D

Yeah April Fools 'jokes' are really, really dull. I'm trying to read the fucking news, not work out which child that never grew up talked you into publishing some bullshit.

Any Netflix library in the world for a couple of quid a month? Gimme!

The two main problems with April fools are that modern culture has totally ravaged reality so pretty much everything seems plausible in 2014 and that they're shit & annoying.

A lot of Internet news stories are fictional at the best of times, so you have a constant bullshit detector going whenever you're online. I rely no proper news agencies to tell me if it's real or not. I don't need them joining in.

Sorry for the Daily Mail link where they show what the Union Flag would look like without Scotland. Given that's a story that's been around for a while it sounds semi-plausible until we have a quote from Avril McTickle.

The DM are also running a story showing "Following leaks claiming to reveal the specs and even schematics of a new handset, a French site working with a 3D artist created this[sic] images of what the iPhone Air could look like". So they're giving credibility to Internet rumours. How do I know which vague made-up story is made up by the DM and which ones they've copied from another site that's made it up?

In short, I hate the Daily Mail.

Despite the fact this is clearly an April Fools thread, when I read that my brain still went "YEEEAAAAHHH! FIREFLY! FIREFLY! WOOOO!" before the rational part of my brain took over and mild disappointment set in.

The DM and the Express would appear to run April Fools stories all through the year.

    Mobiles banned from Sonisphere

The strange thing is I hold The Dragon Age series up as example of diversity and choice, the fact that the brothels in DA service everybody, male/female with multiple options, to remove the brothels is a step backwards for diversity IMO
