Has anyone added Fozzy_Frog (Froggit on here), currently top (of my Friends list) on Arcade I think with 80m+ if I recall.

@applecorp I'm still a little fuzzy on this, sorry.

So, the keepers are unlocking their cells, but sometimes killing them, what circumstances cause this choice? When the computer says "keepers detected" is there a way of locating where? I keep missing them and then a human dies. What I don't understand is sometimes I don't seem to do anything and a human is released anyway?

I am streaming this now if anyone is interested, my distinctly average SHMUP skills! Really enjoyable though.

@TheDarkKnight I'm not 100% on all the permutations myself, but sometimes the keepers aren't on obvious 'rails'. But as far as I know they always glow green. When you hear 'keepers detected', look out for a bunch of enemies glowing green and kill 'em quick.

Yeah I love the explosion at the end of a boost, really handy, very effective.

Got to the boss at the end of level 2, difficulty has picked up a bit! Love it.

Now sitting just below neilqpr on the high score table with just over 15 mil. Made some stupid mistakes on level 2 and lost three lives in the space of 2 minutes, otherwise I'd have probably been getting close to VH's score.

Using overdrive more is definitely the key to racking the scores up (and handy when the screen is full of hard gits like the ones you get on level 3 onwards - although it's then easy to hit keepers in the wrong order, thus killing a human).

I don't think I can explain that in more simple terms.
Never seen them. So you're saying there is a chain of red keepers like the green ones?

I don't think the keepers are always in chains - if by that you mean following a marked-out line on the screen. Sometimes they're just grouped together, but always glowing green (or apparently red).

You can get a group of keepers - one will be green, the rest red. Kill the green one and one of the others will turn green etc. They tens to come in lines, so a nice boost can sort you out but you occasionally get them in a vertical line too.

nop, what he means is that after the 1st level there are a few keepers in a round that must be hit in order. the first one being the one with the big green ring around it, the 2nd being the one that the ring moves to when you destroy the first.

For people looking to hit the really, really big scores on arcade, the key point in the run is the get to the cube boss on the third level with a nice multiplier active and an overdrive charged and ready to go. Shoot at it until it starts flashing red, then unleash your overdrive as it 'sheds its skin' (for want of a better term). Doing this you'll absolutely hammer the shell it leaves behind and it'll immediately spawn another one. You get some frankly unbelievable scores (30-40 million easily) from this one bit alone if you get it right.

also moving all your saved humans close to the save zone then dumping all 10 in (once you have them all free) one after another amasses huge bonuses, combined with a full multiplier and you are looking at a pretty large score.

The bit that wasn't explained by the game or 'manual' was humans and keepers. Feeling a bit clearer about it but still feels a bit random; I'm always losing one human who dies in their box for a reason I have yet to fathom.
