Couldnt see a PS4 thread for this so here we go - i'll be downloading as soon as the PS4 gets here and im looking forward to some dogfights!

Also, just incase you didnt know, War Thunder is probably the BEST PS4 launch game that you're ignoring!

Is it possible to set up an EG squadron?

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

This could be the PS4 equivalent of Warhawk. My original launch PS3 played Motorstorm for about two hours, Everybody's Golf for a week, then nothing but Warhawk for the next two years.

Ah good old Warhawk, but you need the ground combat too. I think you'll find Planetside your Warhawk for this generation.

    @Widge

Quite possibly, never really did anything other than be a pilot in Warhawk though. The War Thunder preview does indicate tank warfare on the same map as the dogfights in the future.

War Thunder is getting tanks soon, which is nice.

No idea when they'll put the naval stuff in though.

Closest I'll get to a Crimson Skies fix. My first ever online game (barring Quake 3 and PSO on dreamcast).

Might have to do some reading up on this.

    The game itself explains nothing.

Will give it a go when things are up and running. Not the best pilot in the world though in games like Battlefield.Tend to facepalm the ground a lot.

It's much easier to handle that BF. Plus using a bomber is really good fun.

When you have levelled up a bit you get a choice of planes to take after each death until the tickets run out. On my PC one I have a few fighters including a spitfire and a hurricane, plus two bombers. The Bombers are great fun as you get to shit on the bastards below.

Some of the Bombers have full crew too, such as the Lancaster, so the AI shoots at enemy fighters as you go on your run which is cool, you also get xp for any hits and kills off them.

The downside to the bombers is that there is a long time before reloading the bombs for drop which leaves you exposed, but you can time it really well with circling round for the next run.

I hope it translates on the ps4 as well as it plays on the PC, it's one of my favourite games. Plus there is land and naval to come too.

I hear you can link your account in the game from the PC one, which would be cool as I can keep my stuff.

Played a few rounds of this last night. Managed some kills, and some iffy crashes too.

I think the biggest problem is going to be working out how to research things and what they do.

It's not the most intuitive upgrade system (bar the flying), but it was great to get some biplane dogfighting with all the other noobs.

I'll definitely be playing this a fair bit more.

So it would appear I can play this quite well :D top of my leaderboard in my first game until I ran out of planes. Pretty cool. More arcadey than I expected, reminds me a little of Wings on the Amiga.

That was my feeling to. Back to Amiga days, which is no bad thing. Was there a game called Blue Max? I think it reminded me of that. Might have been wings though.

I used to love a bit of flying games on c64 and amiga, so look forward to trying again.

Is there a control option that lets you directly control the plane like a normal plane, rather than the mouse control method?

I went to play this last night and found out I couldn't use my PC account which is a little annoying. At least Gaijin have said they'll try and merge the PC/PS4 accounts for players one day. Maybe.

Yeah. Switch from Simplified controls to Advanced in the controls menu.

Anyone know how you switch from Arcade to Historical mode or the full sim version?
