Charlie Brooker's: Videogames Changed The World
    Starts Saturday 30th November, 9pm

From Pong to Grand Theft Auto, Charlie Brooker delves into the history of videogames and pulls out a selection of its most significant titles.

From Atari to Angry Birds, How Videogames Changed the World explores how interactive entertainment evolved from a penny arcade diversion into a medium that some believe is art, and shows how it is changing the way we work, communicate and, of course, play.

Joined by Jonathan Ross, Dara O'Briain and gaming legends like Will Wright and John Romero, Brooker looks at how videogames have become the most progressive art form of the last 40 years.

This humorous and insightful tour will surprise and entertain the uninitiated and dedicated gamers alike.
    Should be worth a watch!

Don't think so. This is a Channel 4 show. Last thing he did on games was a BBC4 thing IIRC.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

    ..that changed the world?

    errr, none?

9 O'clock tonight. I'll check it out, and down a beer. Been playing The Last of Us all afternoon... .. .

Heh, never before have i been so side-tracked by environment graphics. I find myself doing the task in hand, then having a wander around the same location, looking out of windows etc before moving on.

The world would be exactly the same as it is now if video games weren't invented?

Can you get a physical region 1 copy of Indie Game yet, btw? I know they recently released their special edition of it with a ton of unseen footage.

No it bloody wouldn't. I can think of loads of ways in which the world has been changed outside of our own little gaming bubble thanks to the existence of the medium.

Given that it's Charlie Brooker I'm recording it to check his swears out.

My lad wants to watch it with me, so assuming it's interesting enough as well as clean enough we'll watch it in full tomorrow.

Mind you, that Ellie's got a gob on her too, she can cuss like a good 'un so maybe it's her I need to be careful of?

Like, there'd be no video games? Failing that, what?

Board-games have done more to 'change the world' than video-games. Or card games. Or model railway sets. I can't think of anything that wouldn't have happened anyway in the absence of videogames.

It's almost impossible to say, but I'm sure you'll all have a 14 page thread trying to get to the bottom of it

Hmm. Already I'm thnknig "yep, I already know how games make you feel sad or make you feel this or malke you feel that, or achieved this, that or the other."

This is for people who don't know shit about games. Already I'm bored.

Blatant Referral Link Ahoy! 10% off YNAB 4! I love it, but then I would say that.

Yep, that put me off too. Fucking talking celebrity heads. That's exactly what Barry Shitpeas lampoons, and that guy is actually the producer of this.

Hopefully this isn't just the sort of talking heads thing that Channel 4 have been so fond of for the past ten years.
