Ok im crashing now. Getting worse and worse...I'm going to try a cup of tea and if that doesn't help perk me up I'm going home.

    :(

I've crashed. So tired. Can't wait for the fever to crack. :(
  • Deleted user 27 October 2009 21:25:11
    It's cracked!

Getting up and lying down has never been such a gigantic pain in the neck. Well, it has, but not recently. :/ Ga

    Hows you doin' monkey.
  • Deleted user 28 October 2009 15:39:22
Waaaargh... whinge moan... whinge... moan... bleeech... :(

    Just me today?
  • Deleted user 29 October 2009 12:06:28
Seriously now. Three days. Actually we haven't heard from Monkey for a while either. :(

Today - feel better and simultaneously worse. Anyone actually had this swine flu then? Is this par for the course? And whats with the constant sweats? I'm not even hot!
  • Deleted user 29 October 2009 12:09:37
I'm better now. Well not 100% around 70%. Still feel like someone is constantly poking my eyes and my throat and nose are still slightly swollen. Should be good for the weekend though.

It's my birthday drinks on Saturday and I'm meeting an old friend tomorrow for drinks.

    :S I really need a restful week/weekend :(

Edit: Yesterday I was still very bad, hence no posting on EG. :p

Yep, this is pissing me off no end. Along with a dry cough that is really starting to hurt my throat and chest.
    Had it since Monday now.
  • Deleted user 29 October 2009 12:34:00
Hmm you guys seem to have it worse than me. Started on Tuesday and nearly gone today.

The sweats really pissed me off, made me feel like a dirty tramp....especially when I was wearing my hoodie.

Hope you guys get better soon.

Edit: Although I probably only had a bad cold. You guys seem to have flu!

I'm just generally fed up feeling rubbish. At this time of year my arthritis really starts kicking in so it's 6 months of fatigue and pain ahead... Yippee!

O know this is a cold and flu thread, just felt like a moan and this seemed as good a place as any.

    Sorry :(
  • Deleted user 29 October 2009 13:36:25
    :( @ everyone.

Good to hear you're ok, monkey! Hopefully I'm over the worst of it now. Apparently it's very up and down anyway. One moment I feel ok, the next rubbish. I've felt far worse, it's that kind of halfway unwellness where I'm probably capable of doing things were it not for half an hour later fatigue and tiredness setting in, sweating, chest hurting and all that associated fluey bollocks.

    Goban, whinge away!

    What the fuck? Again?

I only had a pint last night.

    Fucking winter.
  • Deleted user 18 November 2009 09:48:05
I got a flu jab yesteday.

    Feel shitty today.
  • Deleted user 18 November 2009 09:52:09
I know you and I never see eye to eye... but...

    /hugs Kalel

The way this winter's been going I kind of wish I'd had gotten one too.

I woke up this morning with my throat feeling like I'd had my tonsils out. Again.
    Feel mostly okay now though...

I'm supposed to have got one, but been too busy with work and life, so I'll just have to take my chances and hope the asthma and pleurisy dont make me "too" vulnerable :)

    That's harsh mate!

I had it for a week and it took another week to get over it and actually get some energy back. Get on the Lemsip!
  • Deleted user 18 November 2009 12:18:02
Panic over. Feeling much better thanks to paracetamol. Nothing worse than waking up with a heavy cold after already suffering swine flu related bollockery.

Meh, just getting over mine. Feeling about 90% at the moment. Typical though, took a week off last week and woke up ill on the Wednesday. :(

I'm on my second dose of flu in the last three months, this one being the non-swine version. I also had an infection in the side of my face a month or so back, and my jaw looked like it had a golf ball in it.

Fucking immune system, where art thou?

    Anyone else suffering?

I have had cold like symptoms for over a week now, but the last 2 days the cough has gradually got worse. I assumed it couldn’t be flu because I had no fever, but apparently that’s not always true.

If it is a cold, it’s the worse one I’ve ever had! Haven’t felt this bad since I was a kid.

Anyway, get well soon anyone else who’s suffering :)

If you're on Eurogamer you haven't got the flu.

    Hope that helps.

Yeah, think I've got kangaroo flu myself. Thankfully I've had a flu jab so it's not full blown, but since Monday I've been exhausted during the day and feverish during the night.. Plus cough, aches and stomach issues. It's not great and because I'm asthmatic, I can struggle to shift them.

Still, I've had much worse, the two times I've had full blown flu were not fun.

@Trowel yeah, full blown flu felt like I was going to die. It was about the sickest I've been

Had a cold now for over a week. The constant snot, phlegm etc is getting dull. Still going to work so at least it is not the flu.

Had the flu end of November, not the worst bout ever. Had a phlegmy cough and bunged up nose ever since, managed to bruise a rib from the coughing, ouch

Had it before Christmas. was the worst I've felt in years. And I was coughing so much I damaged my throat then had the fun of coughing up blood for a week. Then I felt a little bad when literally everyone else in my office got it in the following weeks.

Picked my cold up Christmas Eve and it's been lingering ever since. Waking up every day with blocked nose and phlegmy throat.

To be honest I'm just thankful I haven't got this flu that's doing the rounds, I had my jab in Nov so touch wood I can avoid it. Like others have said, proper flu is so fucking awful... you basically lose a week of your life feeling like you're about to die, then it also takes about 2 months to recover properly.
