Does the title of this alleged spin-off not constitute a MASSIVE spoiler for people who haven't seen Breaking Bad yet, like me?

Presumably it means the character called Saul, whoever he is, survives to the end?
    lol wtf?

Oh fuck, so this minor shady lawyer character might survive to the end of the show? Well, that's ruined it for me. Thanks, Vince Gilligan.

Doesnt spoil anything Tarick as its a prequel, so if he survives or not in breaking bad makes no difference

Am I the only one that clicked this thread expecting a Homeland sitcom based around Saul, with him spouting his various catchphrases from Princess Bride?

    Oh, I am. Carry on.

He's been funny in Community so far. (Banks, not Odenkirk)

    That's his brother, Bill.

But Bob Odenkirk was involved with Mr. Show with David Cross. He's brilliant, basically.

Not too sure about how this will be, but Bob Odenkirk is the man.

    Official Synopsis:
"The series is set six years before Saul Goodman meets Walter White. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and, often, against Jimmy, is "fixer" Mike Ehrmantraut, a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "Criminal lawyer." The series' tone is dramatic, wove with dark humor."

In addition to Odenkirk, the network confirmed the line-up of series regulars for Saul. Joining Odenkirk are Jonathan Banks (Breaking Bad, Wiseguy) as “fixer” Mike Erhmantraut, Michael McKean (This is Spinal Tap) as Chuck, Rhea Seehorn (Franklin & Bash, House of Lies) as Kim, Patrick Fabian (Big Love, Grey’s Anatomy) as Hamlin and Michael Mando (Orphan Black, The Killing) as Nacho – characters that will represent both legitimate and illegitimate sides of the law.
Mckean plays Goodman's - or in this world McGill's - brother, Chuck and the relationship seems to be at the center of the series. "To have these two comedy legends working together is amazing," Gilligan said. Adding, "And Michael will answer questions about Spinal Tap!"

Dunno if it's been mentioned, but BCS has been delayed until 2015. AMC have already ordered a second season though, so hopefully the quality is there.

I'd rather not risk it being diluted by this. At the very least, I wish they'd not have cameos from WW etc
I for one hope that every episode has a shot of Walt winking at the camera. And doing a variation on his "I am the one who knocks" routine.

I don't think WW cameos are confirmed, are they? And I don't see how this will dilute the quality of BB. It's a different show, set in a different time. If it's crap just ignore it. Much like Caprica etc.

Looking forward to this, Bob's not been in anything I didn't like.

Spin-offs bullshit from earlier can suck it.

Are you sure the house is secure? Of course I am, I am the one who locks!
Do you think we'll manage to move in a tightly co-ordinated semi-random patterns with all these other people? Who do you think you're talking to, I am the one who flocks!
Oh no, we really need an awesome guitar solo. Don't worry, I am the one who rocks!

    Yeah, that's not got legs.

I don't think it did really. The whole last series felt like really unnecessary. And most of the penultimate one..

The Simpsons did alright as a spin off
  • Deleted user 14 July 2014 11:02:50
I think shit spin-off and sequels and whatnot just get forgotten for the most part. Sometimes you get things like the Matrix where somehow the whole thing gets ruined, but generally once the dust settles people just remember the good one.

I'm not the world's biggest Friends fan, but I don't think anyone would really suggest Joey somehow sullied the memory of Friends etc.

Not one episode of breaking bad felt unnecessary.

Regardless of whether the spinoff is decent, not a chance it could dent the love towards breaking bad.
