Haven't seen a thread for this so...

Great PC multiplayer game updated for Vita with new graphics. Double Eleven just posted a teaser trailer and it's looking great: Linky

I can't add much other than to say that:

*I've watched a few gameplay videos on Youtube of Frozen Synapse and it's just the kind of strategy game that the Vita needs - I know that I'll love it
    * I've been tempted to buy FS for my fiancée's tablet, but I wanted to hold off until it arrived on the Vita
    * The new graphics initially wowed me, but will they actually add anything to the game at all? Sometimes less is more.

This is my most anticipated Vita title in a list of quite a few.

I prefer the neon VR look. I had this on iPad but barely played a match. I was utterly turd and didn't really know what I was doing. Need to have a proper go.

When's this due to drop Vita-side?

Bumping this, due to the PS Blog update on Friday. It's been too long since we last heard anything, but this is still one of my most anticipated games for the Vita.

This looks really quite polished. Controls are mapped to the face buttons but it seems like you can do everything by touch as well. The control wheel seems like a useful substitute for the right-click context menu.

No news on release. Hopefully before this summer, I'm gagging for it.

I've got it on my phone, but found it all a bit complicated and fiddly. Hopefully the Vita version's improve tutorials and better controls will make everything a bit easier to understand.

@Flying_Pig Yeah, I have the pad version and what seems like it should've been an easy conversion really didn't seem to end up as such. Still looking forward to this though. I've played some Frozen Endzone and the new graphics style has grown on me

Aren't the walls supposed to be destructible?

Changes the game quite a bit if you can't take out cover.

The trailer shows walls being blown up.

Ok yeah you're right. I had to watch a second time, which is strange because it was something I was consciously thinking about while watching it the first time, and had convinced myself that the walls were permanent.

They aren't so much blown up as evaporated. I guess I was looking for the particle effects of the original.

The original was too - took me about 5 hours to nail the basics.

Once you understand it though it's bloody ace - shame I could never get anyone else for a game of multiplayer. Hopefully this sequel will rectify that.

This game is being criminally ignored by the mainstream press (probably because it's on a console without a number in it's name...)

I'm going to bust some heads (i.e. send out some polite tweets/emails).

Yes. Yes. Bit of a rush, fumbly keys, brain not working. Pick an excuse!

Love the music after I've put tons of time into the game. Now if they only offered an option to buy the soundtrack seperately on PSN, without having to buy the whole game again...

Idiotic decision. Who is going to know if the soundtrack is worth it without playing the game first? Are that many people going to fork out an extra four quid as an act of blind faith. Morons. Youtube vids aren't a barometer of whether you'll warm to it.

Can anyone tell me how to set up a match with someone on your friends list? I can only ever seem to get open connection?

Bloody great game though, really makes me wish they'd bring X-com to the Vita.

Ha! Came in here because I'm tempted by this or XCOM. Now that they're both out there in the wild, which is considered the better game? (And which is more suitable for a strategy noob?)

I'd like to know that too, actually... I've already got FSP, but have never played it and fancy grabbing XCOM when it's on sale.

Both are fantastic for different reasons. X com is play by play but you don't get that luxury with FSP.

Have you played the Vita port of XCOM Riv? By all accounts it doesn't run that well.

Though I would have thought framerate issues would matter less in a game like that?

Havent played them on Vita, but I prefer XCOM.

@monkman76 I have, and I took XCOM for what it was on the Vita. A very reduced port of a good PC game, to fit hardware limitations. Lets not kid ourselves, expecting stellar performance is a bad idea and it'd never happen.

Similarly, with FSP, each turn can take a while to load whilst the AI crunches the numbers on the ways it'll try to dick you over. Which is fantastic! But still a bit time consuming (thinking 30sec-45sec per turn with lots of units, less time with less units natch).

Of the two though, FSP is better categorically. It suits the platform better, and honestly... plays better.
