Haven't managed to get any muscle ache so far.. which set of games are you lot playing? Maybe I spent too much time playing the balance game stuff with my kids.

Any recommendations on the best muscle building exercises welcome.

Well, it's highly unlikely to help you build muscle.

    @Progguitarist

There are people here that have mentioned getting some muscle soreness, I'm simply interested in finding out which exercises that's all!

    Stop being so you.

@Gregolution I'm pretty certain that the trampoline game wrecked my legs :)

My front thigh muscles were killing me for a couple of days afterwards. My legs aren't exactly weak as I run, but that must hit a different part of the muscle. If it hurt that much, it must be doing some good. I played it several times in a row as it was tricky, and when I finished I had jelly legs.

There are plenty of other muscle exercises in there too, push ups, luge, all that type of thing. The beginner stuff isn't too bad and that's what is offered up to you first, I assume if you want a harder workout you just go straight for the advanced stuff, though you may have to unlock that first by doing the basic, I'm not sure.

I don't really get proggy's point - it's kind of stating the obvious - it's not a gym membership - but if you can't be arsed going to a gym - you'll get out of it what you put into it, it is exercise after all and hugely varied exercise at that, so you have yoga, cardio, muscle etc. as well as the fun stuff.

I run - so this in conjunction with running is fine for me.

How are folk finding the fit meter? Mine seems a bit daft. I work at sealevel and it's reporting my alititude as -606 feet. It came only with a safety manual - no actual instructions for use.

Wait wait. Looks like when you sync it for the first time it sets it at zero.

I've managed to reset the altitude by pressing and holding both small buttons at the same time.

That's it, that bastard console is getting traded in for a PS4. It reckons I've gone from Overweight to Obese, and put on 2 stone since Wii Fit!

I run as well pinky and i find if i go on a monster bike ride for the first time in a while it leaves me with totally different muscle soreness so i would imagine that is doing a similar thing.

9900 odd steps today according to the fit meter. The temperature measurement seems crazily off the mark most of the time. At least the activity tracking seems reasonably on point. I could see all the major points today such as walking to the train and going out at lunch time. I can see I'm barely active when at work. Need to ramp up my exercise a fair bit. The best thing about Wii fit is the weight tracking. Being able to see your weight chart over several years helps keep it on track. All things considered it's a very useful accompaniament to your regular fitness routine.

So being under the weather just did 45 mins of the gentler exercises, yet Im finding my muscles to be sore. Certainly, the yoga and muscle exercises are targeting certain areas.

The waiter mini game is a total laugh, try it out :)

Tried the golf, would be easy to pull a muscle there if you arent careful.

Starting to unlock the advanced versions of games too.

Tried the tree in yoga, just about managed it, felt great.

No complaints at all about it so far, think its really good!

I just read somewhere about some poor soul who wrecked their legs doing the trampolining :)

Makes me feel better knowing that it's not just me.

Did a run tonight and measured it on my gps watch to check the fit meter and steps relationship. My 3.5 mile run came out at approx 7500 steps. Running seems to be measured at about 8 METs. I wonder if I run fast enough would it go up to 10. It's interesting to see the relationship between steps taken, calories burned and weight measurement.

Just uploaded my fit meter data and it had my 3.5 mile run (5.6K) recorded as 5K, which is pretty good considering the fit meter costs only 20 compared to over 200 for my running watch. So, anyway, you can be confident that the fit meter is a fairly reasonable tool for tracking distance.

@Pinky_Floyd Any chance of getting into the private gym?

Finally started this up as the fit meter is due tomorrow. My last go on Wii Fit Plus was apparently May 2011

Also had to get the tape measure from the sewing box as the Ikea paper one snapped

Paper covers rock, fatty rips paper.

They are pretty flimsy though, I'll pick up some more when I'm down there next for horsemeat balls and elk lasagne.

Hows the old training going ladies? My graphs are a bit up and down after a week but mostly down. Sort of settling into my favourite routines. My daughter does the routines beside me and we usually end up laughing so hard we cant do them. When you are on rep 17 of the press up twist things and a 4 year old shouts out how proud she is of you the net result is collapsing on the floor in fits of laughter.

Strangely, I did 11,111 steps today. Noticed there was a small update applied as well. Wonder what it did.
