@fillip - few others followed such wonderful advice in the first elections, I just spread my chips where there were empty wards and no one seemed to contest them...

I expect my early success to be a fluke and it all come crashing down later in the game...

The joke was meant more at my expense ;)

I keep getting caught up in minor squabbles over individual wards and forgetting about the broader game.

I'm still enjoying it. It would be nice to speed it up to a 'year' a day though.

Dammit! Every time I have a vague clue of a plan, the whole board is changed again.
    Well played fillip.

    Quite a cool game.

@Salaman As I said, I kept you out but missed out on trying to pinch one off Andy. I was going to attempt a 'slander slide' in on Ward 5.

Let he who is without sin throw the first stone, and all that. You delayed the game for a whole hour yesterday!

Slander = remove a boss and pay 1influence chip. Remove another boss from an adjacent ward and pay... Euh... More chips? No chips?
Yeah you may need to double check the rules. It's going to be slander tastic for the last 2 terms.

The second time you remove a boss (using one slander chip) you have to pay 2 favour chips, but there are lots of caveats about the colour of the favour chips you can use. The game should police that for us though.

The delays to these elections are quite unsettling really. Andy has now assumed an almost dictator like role.

    And we are off!

Cubby and Sal to Ward 1 please.

P.S. I'm in and out of meetings all morning so may not be able to get involved until after lunch today.

Have you done a deal then?

A sensible approach I would say.

Nope. I had 8 (bosses + influence chips) and cubby had 7.
I assumed he'd rather save his chips for other wards, since he coudn't win and would not add any chips & I didn't add any either.
Bit risky but it worked out.

Sal out psyching you in Ward 1 seems to have set off a row of dominoes.

I was banking on you to take one of 1 or 4 to try and take a lead on the Irish. It's Sal's again this term.

Chin up. There's still another two terms to go!

@RedSparrows Waiting for your vote in 15, hang around for 8 and then you're done for a bit.

Hope we don't end up going through the weekend without completing the election. :-)
I'm too curious to see how the next two wards will turn out (+ the ones in the 3r section).

Hello chaps. I'm really sorry - past week have been unable to get on much at all.

I also am losing horribly - been too distracted. Bah.

Good to hear it. A reason I am particularly interested is I am currently reading Proust, and the depiction of love in Proust is (whilst not concerned with death; well, as far as I have got, anyway) far more complex than most other fictional examples I have come across, and it's had me thinking a lot about my own love/s, and the recognition that people can and do love differently, at different times.

    edit:

Still hoping for a cushy job fillip!!

I keep reading that as a cubby job. Which, since you asked, is a sex act I do.

It's easy to misread stuff on the forum.
I keep reading "chubby whore" instead of cubbymoore. ;-)

Heh. I actually genuinely misread "cubby job" at "cubby joy". I think you should rename your sex act to cubby joy. It has a better ring to it.
