Enslaved. I though anyone who can dumb down Assassin's Creed deserves some credit.

    Gears of War.

    Or Limbo.

All the eurogamers who actually play with each other on xbl rather than just post pseudointellectual pc handwringing bollocks on the forums, love the shit out of biggy.

Mario Galaxy - Small cramped and linear and lacking any soul or vision. A step back from 64.

Journey - I enjoyed it, but don't get the hype. A solid 6/10 for me.

Gears of War - Not sure why, just never grabbed me, boring as hell campaign.

GTA IV - Just boring and lacking any sense of fun. Saints Row 2 did GTA better than any GTA since Vice City.

Overrated by who? Most stuff seems to have people that like it, and others that don't. I'm not a massive fan of GTAIV and I know there are others that would agree, but at the same time I see what they were going for and can understand people really enjoying it. Not sure if that's overrated or not, though I'd certainly say my opinion of it isn't as high as some of the most positive reviews for it.

LIMBO - great art style ruined by everything else - a generic clockwork maze

Tomb Raider - no freedom, extreme hand holding, push forward to watch the game play itself, poor story and characters (save Lara herself) and no 'real' tombs

Uncharted 3 - pretty much a reheated UC2 except not as fun or original

Journey - all style, little substance; surprised how it won numerous GOTY awards when I felt Fez, Braid and a couple others were far superior

SSX - turned out to be a pale imitation of Tricky and 3; decidedly average

Did people think Alan Wake was genuinely good? It was a fluffed open goal. 6/10 at best, IMO.

Great setting, but it was pretty bog standard post-RE4 gunplay and not much else. Got to wonder why it took so long to make.

    Alan Wake was boring.

Shine torch, bang bang, move on to next boring area, repeat.

I didn't think it was very good. I binned it a quarter of the way through.

As Tom says it is just so average. I don't understand why it took all that time to make when all of the game mechanics, areas and the story were so mediocre.

It was weird. It was a bang average linear third person shooter, and I was really expecting something significantly better than that.
