The Suburbs is in my top 3 albums of my life time. Being just 26, that probably doesn't mean much, but to say i've been looking forward to more Arcade Fire would be a massive understatement.

Arcade Fire are a great band, no matter what my mood their albums always make me feel great. Suburbs is brilliant! Thanks for sharing this, something musically good to look forward too!

Looking forward to this one - though The Suburbs and Neon Bible don't get much of a play from me anymore I count them as good albums with some killer songs (No Cars Go, Half Light II, Sprawl II). Funeral is a different story though; a timeless record that still kicks me in the gut whenever I play it.

No doubt that this will be good. Hoping it's great!

Fucksake. I've not even got my head around The Suburbs yet. Hell, I only realised what a good album Neon Bible was the other month. I guess the problem largely is there's too much other good stuff to listen to, and Arcade Fire aren't in the zeitgeist to the same degree any more, but still, absence makes the heart grow fonder, as they say.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

... and you posted in this thread because?

Whilst Funeral is still their best, Neon Bible and The Suburbs are good albums with a handful of great songs between them.

First time I listened to 'Keep the Car Running' was a really special moment.

    Third time now, eh?

Yeah, quite like this track. Good stuff.

Edit: Second track's more grabby. Possibly helps that now I'm just listening and not watching the video.

They keep playing Reflektor on 6Music. I keep thinking it is Flight Of The Conchords pretending to be Pet Shop Boys. I'm not entirely sure why.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Afterlife has grown on me. I had it stuck in my head all day, but it kept merging into heart of glass, by Blondie. When is it officially released?

They've posted the whole album on Youtube for anyone interested.

Having listened to that live session about 20 times now, i've got to say that the production for some of these tracks sounds really flat. I'm sure i'll get used to it with repeated listens, but it's clearly lacking some oomph. They sound like early demos in comparison to the live versions.

Hmm... The sound was there last night. I don't know where it's gone, but the comments are filled with confused folk today.

I think it's when something doesn't immediately make sense to you, you can dismiss it as being something people like only because it makes them look cool? Or hip? Or a Hipster?

I always thought hipsters were those tights for girls that had an inbuilt skirt on them, or something...

    Ha! :D

If Arcade Fire are hipster, then they've got the best longevity of any hipster band I know of...

Moving away from the negative, I've been a fan of AF since the first EP, they're just one of those bands that sound like themselves. I didn't think they could match Funeral (don't get me wrong, Neon Bible is still great) but The Suburbs topped even that.

The new album hasn't been on my radar at all, so pretty excited that it's almost out!
