Wait, Fable III is free for Gold members?
2 games per month, 1 on the 1st, 1 on the 16th. Forthcoming highlights to include Halo 3 and Assassins Creed 2. I thought they might have made a bigger deal of the fact that the offer is already underway.

I had AC2 and Halo 3 in their disc-based versions and have since sold both on. If I DL these free versions, will the DL'd version see my saves and whatnot?
I don't see why not...
Halo 3 is one of the exceptional games that has slower loading times from the 360 HDD... but if you have a 4GB 360, put your save on the 4GB and watch those loading times fly by!

Put the "save" on it or the game?
The loading times of Halo 3 were pretty terrible even from the disc.
Also to other guy: yes, the downloaded games should recognise the old saves.
Oh, I actually assumed that every 4GB-owner has a HDD of some kind hooked up. Save on the 4GB, game on a HDD (even USB) = vroomloads.

Ign have done an unboxing vid of the new box, and confirmed its a value engineered cosmetic makeover.
It seems complete madness that they are still making a console without a usable hard drive, especially when the entire Internet thought they were going to unveil a cheaper machine without a disk drive
