Oh, and I guess there's that 3DS one as well.

Anyway, it looks sexy. Like how they kept the classic Megaman animation, and some of the new stages/character models look great. I'm guessing there will be some Wii U/3DS connectivity? I Hope Sakurai puts up another Dojo website, where he slowly reveals new characters and items.

    10/10, will buy.

Looks on par with Brawl, not impressed at all.

    Also new site: http://www.smashbros.com/en-uk/

    Old Brawl site: http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/

Compare and contrast and feel underwhelmed, I want it to be amazing but it feels like a by the numbers sequel like all of Nintendo's recent and future output.

I adore the series, but this looks far too similar to Brawl. Very underwhelmed.

Yeah, I was waiting to something to turn up and blow me away after the Mega Man stuff. Then... nothing. :(

I really loved the Villager and Mega Man intros, utterly fantastic.
The gameplay itself looked like same old, same old but Smash Bros in nice HD graphics and solid online multiplayer will be enough for me.

Nah I'd stick with Brawl, as least you'll have online opponents.

LB, you really are a massive geek.

Another video with some commentary regarding the updated designs and new characters.

Definitely has a noticeable upgrade from Brawl in terms of visuals. Of course, the HD helps. Love Villager's 'pick up' move... will be a great way to mess with other players :D

Well, more of the same in many respects but in HD and hopefully with good online features. I was pretty happy with the graphics in the GC version tbh. So, all in all, it's enough for me (not to mention the ton of collectables that they always have). Could be perfect on the 3DS for quick pick up and play sessions during commuting.

Pff, shows what you know. Brawl's online was broken from the start, opponents were scarcer to come by than fresh Nintendo IP.

So that 'Developer Direct' confirmed that the 3DS and Wii U titles are going to have different stages but aren't they meant to be able to play together? How would that work? Also, I really hope they do a bundle with both for a cheaper price, preferably a free 3DS version.

I think this is looking great so far!

The Wii fit trainer made me laugh and THE VILLAGER looks like a clever character. I hope the roster isn't too large

Actually on the interview footage you really can see how improved the graphics are. Much better than the initial impressions.

I like that the 3DS and WiiU versions will have different stages too

They need to start getting of this sort of stuff on the shelves. Wii U will then start to shift units.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realise half of them are stupider than that

Its genuinely one of the most marmite games ever made. I would estimate that 90% of people who get a smash brothers game never play it for more than one sitting.

But the 10% realise how superb / deep the overall mechanic is vs. throwaway button masher.

I really like Kid Icarus on the 3ds so at the very least I'll give it a try as it's by the same team.

It looks mental. Whether it's too manic for me when I've cut my teeth on Streetfighter I don't know.

GameCube Controller Adapter Announced for Wii U
    Fingers crossed for Wavebird support.

    By Mitch Dyer

Nintendo has revealed that Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will be playable with GameCube controllers when it releases this winter. A USB GameCube controller adapter has been revealed, allowing you to hook up to four wired controllers for use with Super Smash Bros.

When asked about Wavebird compatibility, and function with other Nintendo Wii U games, such as Mario Kart 8, Nintendo said it had "no other details at this time."

Nintendo will have it on display at E3 during its Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament. Look to IGN for impressions on the hardware soon.

Is it really worth it over a Pro Controller or classic controller? I had no issues with the Wii remote and nun-chuck combo when playing Brawl, but i'm not exactly god-like at Smash Bros.

Personally prefer to stump up for 4 pro controllers.
