Anybody know if it's possible to grab a digital still from a TV recording on a PVR?

Our nephew was in the University Boat Race at the weekend, and we recorded the program on a Panasonic HDD. Just wondered if it was possible to get still images off at all.

I'll dig out the manual tomorrow, but just thought someone here might have an inkling.

    Cheers.

Nope. PVR recordings are encrypted to only play back on the device it was recorded from.

A digital camera is the only way, unless print screen from BBC iPlayer, ITV Player or whatever.

Boo is it a virgin box? They used to have an option to 'dump' recording out via composite video. Access it via the V+ Extras menu.

If it's their Tivo, I think you're out of luck (http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/TiVo/Transfer-recorded-programs-to-an-external-device-via-SCART/td-p/445375)
