Mitchell and Webb was great, as was the radio show that preceded it. If you haven't seen it yet then google homeopathy A&E.

I'm partial to a bit of Armstrong and Miller as well. Some of their stuff is great.

Watching it now, I'm about halfway through, I keep hoping it will end. It's trying too hard to be subversive, but feels a bit like a children's sketch show.
The Sherlock bit was quite funny though.

I really liked Mitchell and Webb, the 70's bawdy hospital sketch alone puts it up there with the best of 'em. :p
    Definitely.

I've got this Sky+ed, I was so hoping it would be good. :( Please tell me it's at least better than Fielding's utter shitwank Luxury Comedy?

Definitely better than that. But so is basically everything...

It was funnier than Anna & Katy. But then so is rectum cancer.

Shoe Shop was the most 'amusing' part of the show, and even that wasn't very funny... Julia David and Eldon should have just developed that into a show together.

I somehow managed to fall asleep 15 minutes in, it was a welcome release. TBH I didn't have high expectations...

This is what worried me about this show. That instead of taking advantage of a good comedy performer with good material, it just waddles along without being funny.

I may watch it just to know.

Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy at least distracted you with weirdness while it wasn't being funny.

I watched most of their stuff but never saw that one before, brilliant.

Hmmm. Just watched it on iPlayer.

I'll give the next episode a go, but it did not match up to the expectation generated by constant recommendations from comedians on twitter. Seemed a bit confused as to the target audience, and some seemed like Stewart Lee homages.

Cardinal Burns had some good bits in.

I'm not sure if I want to watch Kevin now. I should, just to make my own mind up.

His stand up is deliberately uncomfortably bad.

    Er... Peep Show? ;)

Phoneshop was ace. Cuckoo was good, I thought.

The thick of it is pretty good.

Not exactly a sitcom, I suppose

@Goodfella Phone Shop was much better than I imagine most people who didn't see it would think.

Peep Show and The Inbetweeners aside it does seem we are in a bit of a low patch for sitcoms.

That said, Vicious, the new one with Sir Ian McKellen in is meant to be excellent. Not sure when it airs.

The thing is, I can never judge comedies by the first episode alone. Hell, even the first series. Most shows only work out what they're good at 10-12 episodes in usually, particularly with all my favourite US shows. I't about 7 shows in usually for UK shows what with the shorter runs. It's when the writers can regroup and work out the kinks.

Community is laugh out loud funny at times (for me at least). Though it certainly helps if you're a big fan of sci-fi, videogames etc.
Pisses all over the abomination that is Big Bang theory.

Ignore the latest season and go straight for the first three though
