Hey I'm new to the forum and I'm hoping someone out there can help me. I'm a mac user with an XBox 360 and I'm trying to watch movies on my XBox that I have on my mac. I've formatted a USB through the Xbox and it says it's compatible in every way. It also said it deleted everything from the USB when it was formatted. So I plug it back into my mac to transfer the avi files which should be usable and it says there is only 7MB of space available. I hope someone can help me figure out what the issue is. Thanks to anyone who reads this!

Don't know about the file formats on the USB stick, but you can turn your Mac in to a DLNA server and stream them to your Xbox.

You shouldn't have formatted it via the 360 itself - that formats it for 360 save games, not media files. Format it with the Mac then move your media files onto it.

I've made that same mistake myself so it's easy done :)

The solution is simple. Format the USB using your mac (make sure it's formatted to FAT32). Then put the film on the USB, plug it into your 360 and "hey presto!" it'll work! I should know, I've made the same mistake before! :-P

I think what you've done is use the 360 to create a USB memory card which is great for creating extra space for DLC and savefiles but useless for transferring files.

:D Only 2 minutes in it monty, but I'm glad to see I'm not the only person that made this little mistake. I felt so silly when I realised.
