Registered 7 years agoTheres a few things I dislike, both here and in the case.
- Innocent until proven guilty. We don't know if he is guilty, we don't even know if he shot the gun.
We hear that he was having an argument before the shots were heard but we also heard that this was a valentine prank (which apparently turned out to be false). ALL rumor, we will find out when the case is heard.
- These are real people, I dislike the jokes. How would you like it if it was your son or your daughter?
If this happened to one of the users on EG, the jokes wouldn't be ok but its ok in this case because he is famous?
- Why is he not going straight to jail? They are keeping him in the police station because of his high profile, this is wrong. He should be just like everyone else. What are they going to do for the next 'x' months during the trial? They surely can't keep him locked up in the police station forever?

Registered 8 years agoThey're keeping him and charging him after 1 day of investigation because they must have some damning evidence already. Why do you you think that your own speculation is more valid than any other speculation on here? -

Thank you - not only was that the funniest thing in this thread, but you've also given birth to a new EG meme. Circle of life.
They surely got keep him locked up in the police station forever?
PS - there's still time for a 'RIP Reeva Steenkamp' thread.

Registered 4 years agoHe simply wouldn't survive in prison. Not just because of his disability but because SA prisons are rife with rape. He would be a trophy bitch as soon as he is amongst other inmates.

So where does he go during the trial? Or if he is found guilty? He shouldnt be a special case.

Registered 5 years agoBut if he has such a disability, will he go to a conventional SA prison? Unless they have the facilities to cater for him, then won't they put him in a secure hospital or something similar? -

Registered 4 years agoNo idea tbh. I can't see him going to a regular prison. I'm not sure what usually happens in cases like this. He will get special treatment either way though. The state already said he is staying in the police station due to his fame, not his disability. -

Registered 4 years agoIs it possible to avoid jail time for involuntary manslaughter? A quick google suggests it is not. So his career could very well be over even if it was an accident. I am starting to feel for him considering this could just be a horrible mistake. -

Registered 8 years agoIf the Sun report is to be believed, shooting 3 times and pausing for 10 minutes before another 3 shots is a bit of a stretch for an accident. Even so, 4 times in the face is pretty sharp shooting for a frenzied potential burglary situation. The whole case is bizarre and totally tragic, I wonder if we'll ever get the whole story. -

Is that a joke? Of course it's not to believed. The Sun wouldn't know proper journalism if it took a big shit on their faces.

If you could have your son be an olympic-level athlete, but the trade-off was that he was a murdering sociopath, which events would you put him in?GHOSTBUSTERS

Strange that you chose to make this point in the context of this case - Pistorius is a hero for many for far more reasons than just being "good at sport".
Perhaps we'd be better off picking our heroes out of a pool of people who do amazing things to help their fellow human beings/humanity as a whole instead of people who are just good at sport/acting/singing/dancing/making money/being on telly? -
