What is the genesis of the term season pass? I keep hearing it used a lot now, even in non-gaming spheres and I was wondering what the first use of the term was.

Surely it's from admission to sports or other attractions? I'm guessing, anyway.

Its an americanism. Over here we would use 'Annual Pass' or 'season ticket' for getting into theme parks, national parks, the football, whatever.

Holy shit, I've just discovered I'm working with people who have never even heard of Led Zep, Pearl Jam, Nirvana and Iron Maiden. Also Oasis are now considered 'retro'.

    Well Oasis were early 90s.

Going on about Wonderwall now is a bit like going on about Bohemian Rhapsody then.

They should still work, though the sound might be a little washed out.

Talking about bands with young people is a good way of feeling the generation gap. I'd have thought Led Zep, Pearl Jam, Nirvana and Iron Maiden would be famous enough for most people to have heard of them, but obviously not.

Another strange reaction is when a teen, having recently discovered Nirvana or other old band, is shocked/angered/horrified/disgusted that anyone over 25 likes them.

I remember a girl in work, about 7 years ago now, telling me that she thought the Red Hot Chilli Peppers cover of Under the Bridge was way better than the All Saints original.

Laugh? I nearly threw her under a bus.

I was working out that I must have been 7 when he died then. The way some kids went on about him at school, you'd think they'd been heartbroken when it happened.

I think I was in the sixth form when he croaked it. I remember all the weird leather clad, big boot wearing folk crying and wailing like their mother had just died. Good band though.
