I had this on an Amiga/PC dual floppy. Installed it on one of the PCs in quietest room in college and played it far too much instead of working.

WE played this with link cables at the neighbors' house. He was such a sore loser.
It was such a blast. Well worth the hard work of lugging the TV over to his place.

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

There is so much love for this game! Absolutely everyone that's played it and remembers it seems to have such fond memories.

Massive kudos to Dan Vernon for re-building it and for giving his blessing to the review!

My head says yes, my heart says no!

If it was remade, I hope it retains the completely minimal Tron-esque atmosphere and doesn't get cluttered with textures and so forth. I think it's such an integral part of the experience!

Adored this game. We used to link our STs together via the serial link and go head-to-head great stuff. Followed up with some Falcon 3.0?

    Good times!

Couldn't you build your own.tracks on this?

I just remember it being very hard but extremely satisfying.
    So many classic Amiga games.
  • Deleted user 30 January 2013 11:12:47
It was as hard as nails but many hours were spent on this. An awesome game. Still remember continuously being hoisted back on to the track after misjudging another jump / corner.

Edit: Did I read that right? There was a sequel?

A track editor would be a worthy addition - especially one with community features.

I remember this probably being my first experience of network gaming when I used to lug my Amiga 1200 and monitor across the road to my mates. This, Knights of the Sky and Skidmarks. Happy days.

Knights of the Sky; hours of going in circles broken up by a second of holding down the trigger as your mate flashed by. Loads of fun :)

Powerdrome was also ace linked up. But nothing could beat SCR for sheer brilliance. Those long parabolic jumps which saw you lose from sailing clean over the curve in the track. Or win by skating around it on your chassis, coming off into the home straight with two pixels of health left in your rollbar.

So born in 83(ish) and then playing this when you were 6(ish?)

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realise half of them are stupider than that

One of only a handful of games to allow you to link Amigas with serial cables for multiplayer action. This and Powerdrome(?) stick in my mind for that. Classic / ahead of their time in that regard.

I've still got the big box and manual in a cupboard somewhere. I think we used to multiplay Armmourgeddon too. I loved that game.

That's the one yes :D Or as my mate used to do, not bother actually taking off and just taxi around on the ground letting me fly into his crosshairs and getting cheap kills

Could have done - I'm 32 & played it. The not as good as the Amiga but still brilliant c64 version anyway...

Ahhh, Magnetic Scrolls how i loved your games. They were really pretty at the time but i was a bit too young/immature to be able to use the parser properly. I still keep meaning to go back and try again.
