Some people believe that, the 2-D, video games lateral and vertical mechanical, disappearing completely finished (now even have their stronghold in the handheld) as technology advances and will not stop for the nostalgia of the old players.

They also note that in the last 10 years, the successful formulas remain essentially just change the graphics and online play, it remains to take another leap. The Virtual Reality.

In the end only will 3D mechanical games, isometric and third-person video game in the future. But video games are not new development designed lateral and vertical 2D.

What you see, is this topic?

Are all arcade video game genres (platforms, beat em up, shoot em up, run and gun and fight 1 Vs 1, can switch from mechanical or 2D game development, other mechanical 3D, if your programmers and designers know that things must change, to adapt to other 3D 2D mechanical?.

No disrespect to you Mr Matchbox, but I'd humbly suggest you stick to your native language version of Eurogamer for a more in-depth discussion. I can see from your posting history you've posted in that one.

As for 2D, still plenty on mobile platforms so it's safe for a good while :)
