Yeah id be in for that. A bigger region with every city connected would be better than these massive ones divided up into 4 player coop.

So if a ton of people that signed up to one of the EG regions have decided to stop playing/get refunds/generally rage about the game then I will probably be abandoning my city in each region in the near future and start a fresh region for the people that are going to continue playing. Playing in a region with people that have left the game is a bit pointless - may aswell play sandbox.
I'm up for it, Robinsonhtid is orgin name, will be good. I going to do a tourist/gambling Mecca :p

My current city needs some real work too, so starting afresh with a bit of extra knowledge is probably a good thing anyway.

All the cities are still there but judging from the activity in game and also peoples mood on here it's probably already not worth having multiple 16 city regions anymore.

So, looking at all the regions, the good one looks like Reflection Atoll. It's a 7 city region but all seven cities are connected by the same highway system and there is only one Great Works. This looks good because it means anyone in the region can share emergency services with each other (rather than be stuck in 4-city clusters) and also the Great Work will get done quicker (I've yet to see a completed Great Work in any of the 16 city regions).

I'm just setting it up now, Eurogamer Isles I think.

Yea I'm still enjoying it and would like to join on the new server..is probably worthwhile starting new ones pretty regularly at this point not just due to dwindling numbers but also the fact that you can't just start city's again. I'm still learning and making stupid mistakes.

ok the Eurogamer Isles have been founded!

Based off Reflection Atoll, a fully interconnected 7 city region. No clusters here!

    EU West 6.

If you are going to be playing regularly and want some city on city love this is the place for you!

2 slots gone, 5 left as I write this. If it fills up then I may start a Eurogamer Isles 2. But I won't bother writing out city descriptions etc you are all big enough to look at them for yourselves. Once you are invited just take what you want (one city each obviously).

Count me in on the new region. That's why I've been trying to get on ew6 as there's not many left on ew2. Hence me hassling you for invites ;-)

I am now filling Eurogamer Isles with regulars. Few slots left. I have also started Eurogamer Isles II as an overflow in case it fills up which is looking likely.

Note that if you are just starting out with SimCity Eurogamer County/Ridge will probably be better for you. Eurogamer Isles is meant for players who have already tried the game and are going to be regularly playing it.

If the Sims really are programmed to just travel to the nearest workplace/home, which seems to be the case, then that surely is a colossal design flaw rendering a supposed 'simulation' not fit for purpose.

If the game is designed around the AI (agents) working like that, then how deep will a patch need to go to fix it?
You have to consider that it's about cities with several 100k inhabitants, so people just become statistics at this point, anyhow. What's the population limit of Tropico, 2000 or something? I think this "fake" simulation can work quite well, if they manage to fix the bugs and make it more logical.

They don't seem to be planning on fixing that anyway.

Edit: I say "fix" but they intended it to work that way, so in essence nothing is broken.

Are we abandoning EG Fjord? If so, then I would probably be interested in starting a new city elsewhere - Snafu Flats is oddly comforting, but appears to be heavily bugged now (utility agents don't seem to work) - but I'll wait to see if anybody else wants the slots first. I have a tendency to play games heavily for a bit and then lose interest, so it's probably best to see who else wants in first.

Not necessarily abandoning, I'm just starting some 7 city regions that are all interconnected for those that are going to continue playing regularly.

Seven cities connected together should be better than four 4-city clusters.

I made a right pig's ear of a city on the fjord.
It's those damn cliffs, they spoil the perfect simmetry of my design.

I'll take an Isle slot if there are any blissfully flat plots left.
