'Ah Kirk, Kirk. Do you know the old Klingon proverb that revenge is a dish that is best served cold?' So when did Khan meet Klingons?

The Enterprise doesn't half take cheap shots with its phasers. Khan shoots to disable, blowing out the systems in the saucer and the engineering section (and then later the torpedo bay in the neck). Kirk shoots up the Reliant's bridge, then has a pop at the bridge, then shoots the bridge again and kills Khan's mate, and only at the end goes for weapons and engines.

Why does the slug decide to crawl out of Chekov's ear at a highly convenient moment? Why does Kirk then trust him?

Why does blowing up the torpedo bays and the port warp nacelle stop the Reliant firing back with phasers?

How do you even GET to the torpedo bays on the Reliant? They're only attached to the ship by pylons.

'We must withdraw! Enterprise isn't going anywhere!' Well, given she was fixed by one Vulcan with a pair of gloves and a spare part, seems a bit of a stretch to be so confident.

'If we go "by the book", like Lft. Saavik, hours will seem like days.' Isn't Khan supposed to be a genius or something? How does he not get this?

LB, you really are a massive geek.

It's not real. I'm sure that's part of the reason why.

Khan didn't even know Klingon's existed. He was asleep and in deep space before First Contact with any aliens.

Yeah that might be it actually.

I skipped the obvious and famous one: Space Seed was a season 1 episode, Chekov didn't join the Enterprise until Season 2, Khan remembers Chekov.

I don't think you get to do this in parallel with talking through comic logic in the other thread. Choose your nerd level and stick with it :)

It says a lot about the rest of the Star Trek films that Wrath of Khan is the best one.

Anyone who fucking criticises the Wrath of Khan can go fuck right off its awesome

Punches a wall in disgust :-(
  • Deleted user 4 January 2013 15:45:20
Good film - often compared to U boat warfare and there are even some (deliberate) submarine type sounds in the spaceships.

Only thing I thought was a bit silly was that Khan is eventually beaten because apparently he thinks in '2D' enabling Kirk to outmanouver him. Earlier in the film he is described as a genius...
