Can't seem to find a thread for all the brilliant indie games out there, although I probably missed it. Anyway, here we are!

Just wanted to vent my spleen and warn people about Machinarium and your game save getting wiped if you use ccleaner, three times I've had to start the game and I aint doing it again!

Not sure if Mark of the ninja is classed as indie but loving that game at the moment as well as of course, FTL

Been playing FTL (duh), Dungeons of Dredmor, Legend of Grimrock, Gemini Rue ... and Machinarium ;)

I back up my saves to Dropbox from time to time, mainly because I use different computers to play it.

Is cradle that build your robo-possibly-dead-wife-or-something in the Mongolian wilderness simulator? That looked excellent. Apart from the bullshit puzzle blocks bit that turned up in one trailer.
  • Deleted user 17 June 2014 19:15:35
Yeah. Although, the dead wife thing is a bit creepy...

Hi, I am an AI expert working on a very unique RTS, Stardust Colonies.

In Stardust Colonies, the player takes a role of a Colonizator, and a member of a high-tech alien species that defeats and colonises other planets. The game is an AI-focused mixture of emotion and task micro management, forcing players to observe their units and how their feelings change over time in order to make the colony survive and fulfil objectives like building monuments or securing hostile areas.

Each unit has its own happiness and energy level that affect how it performs. Happiness of a minion is determined by whether it likes the task it’s doing (mining, farming, breeding) and by its other personal experiences. The player also needs to keep an eye on the energy of their minions and let them rest from time to time so they return to work fresh.

In later versions of the game, there will be hostile alien creatures and RPG-like tech tree.

Help the game get original 3D graphics and a dark atmosphere on Kickstarter!
You can download a free demo on http://stardustcolonies.com/join

Been watching a few streams and vids of 'This War of Mine'.

A survival sim that makes me feel bad about surviving. Scavenging and looting in a 2d, shelter management rpg.

Doing pretty well on Steam at the moment, just not a game if you like your games happy and cheerful. If you ever felt guilty about shooting people in DayZ then this is not for you. This is not 'war' as depicted in video games traditionally, you're a civilian, not a soldier.

If you want to cut a granny's throat, this is the game for you. (seriously, you can do that and then take her belongings)
