    Just though I'd create a specific thread where we can rant about how shit our jobs are.

    I'm sick of people where I work that don't do there jobs properly. Case in point: I'm a minimum wage slave that works in retail we'll have a massive queue of people and only 3 people on tills, one of them will think 'I'm going to do something else' and fuck off when they should be serving customers. You're a fucking till operative! Stay there and do your fucking job when you're needed! FFS!

    Phew.

    No specific job but in most of mine there is always someone is paid far too much for seemingly doing fuck all and knowing very little. Basically these 'non' jobs which seem to have been created to give someone something to do to pass the time.

    She's some sort of manager (of what I don't know), potters around during the year telling people to do things she has no clue about, does the pointless group role playing induction at Christmas for the temps, that kind of thing.

    Generally, the Industrial Revolution fucked all future generations in the arse when it decided 5 days on and only 2 off was the shizzle.

    Because 6 and half days on, with 18 hour days was better.

    Ah, but this is a different thread. I read the other one as specifically pertaining to one's current job, as opposed to this one being about all work being shit.

    Which I agree with, btw. Unfortunately, not working at all is really not good for you either.

    Hey, those two days were hard fought for by the trade union movement everyone's usually so quick to deride. If it wasn't for them, you'd be working seven days a week at t'mill or down the pit.

    My job is ok. It can be quite enjoyable. My workplace is a horrible place to be and my boss sucks.

    The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine.

    @Fantomex

    Nah, I like the current title better. Terse and to the point.

    Plus, it's by far the most popular new thread this morning, so a job well done, I say.

    @dominalien I think only a Mod can change it now anyway. I don't this thread will ever get to page 2 to be honest.

    I dunno, we've got on to the subject of grammar, so I'm expecting at least 10 pages.

    Who cares about minimum wage supermarket checkout people anyway? Just use the self service counters and you can avoid having to interact with the sweaty plebs.

    I have a secure, extremely well paid job so should count myself lucky.
    However, spending 42 hours a week hunched in front of a computer, barely moving is shit, unnatural and unhealthy.
    I wish I had the imagination and balls at 17 to do something genuinely rewarding and active.
  • Deleted user 29 October 2012 10:34:36
    @Aargh.
    I agree, but if you work with the sweaty plebs it's quite difficult to ignore them. Well, if barely identifying with them on a human level counts as ignoring, then that's what I'm doing.

    I don't work in a super market. Selling booze and tinned food to tramps and crack heads? No thanks.

    Do their job for free thus gradually eliminating yet another low skill job because you're a massive, massive snob and also a sucker? =)
