I only just changed to Modern Warfare last week (Hello Quadruple!). Judging by how popular it is on FM-Base...it's bound to be nerfed to the ground when I go home tonight isn't it?

Registered 3 years ago20 games in using modern warfare it seems exactly the same results wise. 3-0 wins with the odd 6-0 thrashing thrown in.
I hate the new slower animations. Some highlights are going on for ages whilst they just walk about like twats. -

Registered 10 years agoI've read about this 'Modern Warfare' before, completely negates the point of the game for me. I want to manage a football team no be a nodding duck. -
I just like signing players and taking Luton into Europe. I understand that designing your own tactics would ultimately lead to a more satisfying experience but I just don't have the patience.

Registered 9 years agoIt's essentially two different games. Back in the Diablo days I'd generally have one 'proper' game where I manage the Blades and make my own tactics, etc. and then one game where I picked Moneybags Rovers and stick one of these tactics in and have fun playing Pokemon with football players.
Usually put may more time into the proper one, but the other way is definitely still fun.Quoted

Registered 3 years agoAin't nobody got time for that. I'm a min-max'er. If I'm not getting 100% out of everything I've got I'm doing it wrong.
The journey and reward for me comes from signing a squad of 15 year old regens and seeing them all become international superstars. -
What shouts are you using with modern warfare, Gray?
I've been using the pump ball into box, get ball forward, push up and play wider combo but I'm also finding retain possession, pass to feet and drop deeper very effective when playing much stronger teams. I just put two Championship sides out of the League Cup with League Two Bradford. I was playing my second choice 11 as well.
Also, I seem to be getting a lot of joy with this corner set up. It's tweaked slightly from the modern warfare default. Scored six goals from corners in three matches. With the default set up I score maybe a handful a season. Could be my tweak or could be something to do with the patch. Here's a screen grab.

Registered 3 years agoI've only used it for a season but from memory I only use pump ball (drill crosses?), push up, play wider, but the opposite to you I use pass into space (although I think this is less effective in the new patch). Still a bit of a noob with shouts, almost all of the tactics I've used have been the non-shout classic ones.
I think the right sided striker needs tweaked since the patch. He (Fierro 2018) is struggling to keep up with my drop deep striker (Damien Llyod, legend). Damo scores hat tricks in his sleep but Fierro (or anyone of my fast strikers that I try) seem to struggle.
I still think TBH's 4-5-1 was better. But after 5 years I guess anything becomes pretty noneffective. -

Registered 6 years agoI prefer the long game route. I have fm 13 but i cant stop playing my Rochdale game from fm10. Cup runs and seeing your cheap players come through the ranks and score in FA Cup finals against moneybags City sure takes some beating. -

No, the tactic doesn't guarantee victory. It isn't like the diablo tactic of old.

Registered 9 years agoRight, I've pretty much got all the achievements I want out of FM12 (just a matter of time till I overtake SAF!) so I'm pondering either picking this up or doing the "take a team from bottom to top in Outer Mongolia" challenges in 12.
Can anyone sell upgrading to 13 to me, bearing in mind an up to date player roster isn't that big a draw?Quoted

Not really. I don't think you're missing much. The player roster isn't even up to date yet. I think the database update is coming in March.
